Al Sharpton and all the other "Doctor-Reverend-Pastor-Professor-Ombudsman-Fantasy Football League Commissioner" or whatever phony title comes up...........aren't doing poor black kids any favors with telling them how the odds are so stacked against them, how oppressed they are, how victimized they are. Make it feel hopeless, give teens an excuse, and they'll take it.

They need some wise, tough-love, like Bill Cosby gives. Get a job, stay in school, talk like you have an education, dress like you want a job, stop committing petty crimes.

Kids of all color need that advice. But, since its the hot topic....Someone tell Reverend-Captain-Chaplain-Elder Statesman Sharpton that he isn't needed.

Amen!

I certainly agree! However, Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson are in the race-baiting business. They thrive on strife and turmoil created and maintained by their promotion of protesting.

Bill Cosby has a good message for blacks young and old. So does this guy...

'They're standing on the corner and they can't speak English. I can't even talk the way these people talk...

Why you ain't

Where you is

What he drive

Where he stay

Where he work

Who you be...

And I blamed the kid until I heard the mother talk. ;< /SPAN>

And then I heard the father talk.

Everybody knows it's important to speak English except these knuckleheads. You can't be a doctor with that kind of crap coming out of your mouth.

In fact, you will never get any kind of job making a decent living. People marched and were hit in the face with rocks to get an education, and now we've got these knuckleheads walking around.

The lower economic people are not holding up their end in this deal.

These people are not parenting. They are buying things for kids. $500 sneakers for what??

And they won't spend $200 for Hooked on Phonics.

I am talking about these people who cry when their son is standing there in an orange suit.

Where were you when he was 2??

Where were you when he was 12??

Where were you when he was 18 and how come you didn't know that he had a pistol??

And where is the father?? Or, who is his father?

People putting their clothes on backward, isn't that a sign of something gone wrong?

People with their hats on backward, pants down around the crack, isn't that a sign of something?

Or, are you waiting for Jesus to pull his pants up?

Isn't it a sign of something when she has her dress all the way up and got all type of needles [piercing] going through her body?

What part of Africa did this come from??

We are not Africans. Those people are not Africans. They don't know a thing about Africa .
With names like Shaniqua, Taliqua and Mohammed and all of that crap, and all of them are in jail.

Brown or black versus the Board of Education is no longer the white person's problem.

We have got to take the neighborhood back.

People used to be ashamed. Today, a woman has eight children with eight different 'husbands' -- or men or whatever you call them now.

We have millionaire football players who cannot read.

We have million-dollar basketball players who can't write two paragraphs.

We, as black folks have to do a better job. Someone working at Wal- Mart with seven kids... you are hurting us.

We have to start holding each other to a higher standard.

We cannot blame the white people any longer.

There are Tibetian Monks out there who live in poverty and without possessions who are far happier than your average white American Mundane with their nuclear family, white picket fence, middle class job, etc.

If Bill Cosby wishes to neglect black culture, let him. That's his choice. But when he attempts to impose that choice on others, he can go fuck himself.

White people, and coconuts like Bill Cosby, need to embrace their own culture, and allow others to embrace whatever culture they identify with.

Quit telling other people how to live their lives. Focus on your own life while you still have it.

Well there's an unbelievably huge difference between the 'black culture' of the 50s and this day in age. And anyone who believes differently is an utter fool.

Take just two simple things Bill Cosby pointed out. Inability to speak English and pants exposing cracks.

Cosby speaks well and knows how to dress.

Eric Holder speaks well and knows how to dress.

Barack Obama speaks well and knows how to dress.

Tiger Woods speaks well and knows how to dress.

Vernon Jordon speaks well and knows how to dress.

Eugene Robinson speaks well and knows how to dress.

And the list could go on and on.

Wonder why such prominent blacks, and millions of lesser known, haved turned their backs on today's 'black culture'? Are they all Uncle Toms, Oreo cookies, house niggas, etc., etc.?

A large segment of the black community is in the sewer today and the only way out for them and those to come is to wake up and listen to people like Cosby. There simply is no other solution and it has to come from within. Good luck.

What culture do you "embrace" or live your life in accordance with, Goddess_Ashtara?

That is an excellent question.

I have absorbed and embraced culture from many sources, as well as created my own.

I have found cultural inspiration from numerous religious/ spiritual sources such as the Order of Nine Angles, the Temple of the Black Light, Paganism, Thelema, Christianity, Satanism, Theistic Satanism, Luciferianism, Theravada Buddhism, Islam, Wicca, Hinduism, Judaism (especially the Kaballah), Catholicism, and others.

I have found cultural inspiration from numerous racial sources. White culture, Black culture, Native American culture, Mexican culture, Asian culture, and many others. I am always looking to expand my horizons by learning new things from any "race."

I have found cultural artistic and spiritual inspiration from many ancient cultures such as the Mesopotamians, Egyptians, Greeks, Aztec, Mayans, and many others... but I have also absorbed cultural artistic inspiration from Renaissance artists such as Leonardo Da Vinci.

I have absorbed culture from all of the sports that I have competed in, and from all fitness activities that I have participated in on my own or with others.

I have absorbed military culture. Gang culture. O9A culture. WSA 352 culture.

I have absorbed culture from many great leaders such as Hitler, Washington, Gandhi, Muhammad, Jesus, Buddha, and others.

I am from America so I have American culture in me. Arizona culture. California culture. Nevada culture. Texas culture. Western and Southwestern American culture. Fucking Desert culture man! I love it!

As far as music goes, I've definitely absorbed a heavy dose of Metal culture. Death Metal, Black Metal, all sorts of metal culture. I also like to dance, so there is culture to be found in anything I can enjoy moving my body to. There is so much culture to be found in dancing! The way you dance says a lot about you!

As far as creating my own culture, I developed many of my own traditions and rituals around the Winter and Summer Solstices and the Spring and Autumnal Equinoxes, and their midpoints. Aka the Wheel of the Year aka the Witches Sabbats. I also sometimes incorporate the traditions of my Pagan ancestors, but I enjoy the traditions I developed on my own, and have spread those traditions to others.

I developed my own style of graffiti and my own heiroglyphic system (which I am still expanding upon) by evolving or just drawing inspiration from existing graffiti culture and Ancient Egyptian culture.

I have developed my own "religion" by drawing inspiration from Nature, the Earth, the Universe, and the religions and cultures around me.

So you see?

There is no single culture that defines who I am. My blood does not define my culture and my country does not define my culture.

For the most part, I live my life in accordance with Roman/Anglo-Saxon culture. Except I can't stand clergymen and I like to get high.

You sound like an interesting woman, Goddess_Astara. We'll be seeing more of each other in thre future.
