This is the first book I've read by this man and I'm hooked. I've read articles of his and seen him on TV but that really doesn't do him justice. His writing is exceptional and the content is eye opening. He touches on topics that challenge the mind and forces you reconsider facts you thought were true. I haven't felt as cheated by history since I finished "Lies my teacher told me". In Black Rednecks and White Liberals he explains the reasons behind racial and regional seperations that have caused the nation to be divided. If you think you know about racism in American you need to read this book and then decide if you really knew as much as you did before.

Congratulations on having discovered the writings of Dr. Sowell. Having been a fan of his for a while, I can say that you have many eye-opening experiences in your future. I highly recommend his "Basic Economics", "The Quest for Cosmic Justice", and "Vision of the Annointed".
