A tremendous 2 sport athlete in both professional wrestling as well as football, he was a pioneer for his race in both, a real Jackie Robinson. I remember the last time I saw him live on TV being interviewed during a Grambling game after his retirement when his son was playing. Both he and his son had the same football coach in college, although Mr. Ladd's wrestling manager, The Grand Wizard was already deceased so unable to help the boy if he wanted to enter the King of Sports.
