if the Democrat or Socialist Parties attract this kind of following, then why not set up each
Party to pay for the programs of their members, and not impose that on others who disagree?

My bf said a coworker openly admitted his socialist agenda. He admitted he watched his nickels and dimes (even disputed the dinner tab and tip) but when it came to funding public programs he expected other people to pay.

So I said he should have divided up the dinner tab that way:
Whoever agreed to pay for their own dinner, pay their dinner.
And whoever agrees that other people should pay their dinner, pay for dinner
FOR ALL THE PEOPLE who AGREE to that policy.
And just SEE who pays for dinner.
of course, you woudl have each person paying their own tab.
I.e., free enterprise, and responsibility for your own costs. Ha!

I have NO problem with charity and especially investing in education so
people can pay back in the future.

But you can't mix this with govt programs and tax mandates unless public health and security is at risk (I emphasize criminally sick people who become a public threat, which should have top priority as a crime issue as well as reforming and balancing state budgets.)

Except for extreme issues and cases of national security and public safety that are for state authority, the regular charities, businesses and educational sector could handle most of the other social programs much more effectively if you keep govt and politics out of it.

This would be the liberal and socialist dream job to create a campus of programs
where they can fund and run things all they want! Why not? Even the Greens have been promoting independent labor-backed currency and local business coops, where this would solve the problem of relying on the Fed to control the economy.

I think we are heading to localized democracies and economies anyway,
for the sake of accountability and sustainability that is otherwise lost to politics.

Why not bring this out by ASKING people to organize by parties
and pay for their OWN programs and policies? the sincere people will
lead the way and should indeed be leaders of their parties; the political frauds
who are merely exploiting the votes to get elected based on other people's money
will excuse themselves when asked to fund the policies they are pushing.

So you will divide the real from false leaders and clean up ALL parties this way!

Notes on what causes this dependence on govt:

The problem I find is that since most Church-based people use their Church to organize their social support and charitable giving (and conservative people use their own business resources), then the Democrat and other liberal/nonconservative independent parties tend to attract the people who DON'T have support of churches or business to organize their representation, resources and policies in the community.

So unfortunately with that many people collecting in these parties as the members and constituency, the tendency has been to depend on GOVT and elected leaders to serve as a "proxy," as a substitute for what churches normally do but these people don't have that structure to fall back on. So that is where this trend seems to be coming from, including using liberal media if people don't have as strong connections as Christian or other networks to organize their support base.

The secular approach is not bad in itself, as the Constitutional govt is supposed to stay nonbiased religiously; but the abuse of this to push political agenda above and beyond what the Constitution defines or limits for govt is what causes the mess.

And I don't mean to criticize only one side for abusing govt, because the opposite extreme
happens as well: The way free enterprise/capitalists/conservatives abuse the system
is not checking corporations enough, but going overboard with competition where it loses its fairness, ethics and "check and balances." They are just as afraid of govt regulating business, so it gets abused for excess damages by corporate abuses, also at public expense!

The solution is to enforce Constitutional standards to correct and prevent such abuses.
If you want to fund things beyond the realm of govt, then go do that privately.
On the other hand, if what you do as a "private" corporation has the equivalent collective influence on policy as govt, then that should be checked and balanced the same way.

You can't have welfare handouts on one side, and corporate welfare on the other, with both sides complaining and blaming the other for bankrupting the budget.

Pay for your own programs: rich or poor alike, instead of competing to get govt handouts!

This is a pattern with her, she said the lady that glued her kid to the wall should be given a "short stint" in jail or something like that.

Given the ratio of expenses on jails versus the effectiveness of rehab,
I think where the states are heading is incorporating more rehab and counseling
WITHIN the court and correctional systems. So you can have both, not either/or.

You still have strong law enforcement and security.
But people have to finish successful counseling and corrections to be eligible for citizenship.
So you can incorporate those programs within the system.
But counseling is NOT a substitute!

Even the Alternatives to Violence Program that has an international reputation for
turning people's lives around, only works because it does NOT interfere or influence
the legal or sentencing decisions of the convict. You cannot legislate the counseling
programs that work, because the effective ones work by free will and the private spiritual recovery process required to overcome the patterns of abuse and crime.

I think we could REQUIRE that people's mental or criminal sickness be treated back to "safe levels" before allowing them to go unsupervised; but the methods cannot be dictated or regulated by govt, unless they are medically proven to be necessary in the case of extreme criminal illness and addiction that is otherwise a threat to public health and safety.

I am Certain a Court would let her off Easy because of her Injuries and Stupidity.

if she is unable to process logically, of course, it is unethical to punish a mentally incompetent person in cases where they only hurt themselves.

but if she has any understanding and ability to know right from wrong and consequences for actions, she could be expected to apologize to police and to the NAACP or any others she made false reports to which caused them problems, and do something to offset the costs.

If she has no money, maybe her sister could help push a fundraising drive to pay back the hospital and police costs, as her restitution for being involved. especially if the sister has legal sense and knew better, she should bear proportional responsibility for the damages.

I disagree. Many people will remember her claims, and few will remember that she made them up. She needs to make a public apology and do some community service so that she understands exactly how bad her racism has hurt people. How many people will be attacked by blacks because SHE claims the KKK attacked her and set her on fire? It remains to be seen, at any rate, she owes all people who've actually been a victim of racism an apology.

That's an asinine statment. I guess we should let the drunk driver off if they are seriously injured in a drunk driving accident right? Or the let's lte the rapist who is shot by their victim off because after all, they've been punished enough by being shot right? This woman belongs in prison plain and simple. Furhtermore, if her false accusations would have caused other negroes to riot or attack whites like the savages are quite prone to do in situations like this, this woman should have been arrested as an accomplice in those crimes as well. She did more than "just hurt herself", she broke the law and needs to be arrested, tried and punished. Drunk drivers who hit nothing but a tree harm no one but themselves, just like this moron did, yet they are still arrested, charged and tried as she shoulld be. If I was on the jury I wouldn't treat her easy, her actions could have had serious repercussions and arresting her, charging her and sending her to jail may stop the next moron from faking a hate crime, which by the way is done pretty often.
