Joyce, an 82 year old lifelong black Democrat called C-Span to express her dismay with her party and announce that she voted straight Republican this year. She is dismayed with the Democrats stance on religion, abortion, and the poor effects of Obama’s policies on the black community and the country.






“I have noticed in years what the Democratic party has done to my people. Unemployment is higher in the black community….than anywhere else.

I cannot say, there’s no way I can continue to say that I was a Christian and stay in the Democrat party. They advocate the killing of babies, they advocate taking from the doers and giving to the ones sitting doing nothing…….”

She continued by saying that it is not racist to say that Obama isn’t an effective President. She said it is foolish to play the race card.

“This man is destroying this country…He said he was going to transform American and that is what he is doing.”

Republicans freed the slaves, ended the Democrat's Jim Crowe laws, and passed the civil rights act. Your "N-word" rhetoric is just plain bullshit and you're half right in the last attempt to make a point. Yeah, Democrats realize a value in blacks - votes. But the ones who give a damn are the ones who want blacks to stand on their own two feet instead of being tapeworms their whole lives. They want job training programs to go along with the welfare so they can learn a skill and support themselves, Democrats think it's an insult to require work or learn a skill. Apparently, blacks think that being told they aren't smart enough to get a job and being kept dependent on the government is an expression of love. Looks like the free ride is more important to them than their self respect.

Yes there is. The problem is that they do not have enough 'voting slaves' to keep it in power.

The present Republican party demonstrates a form of strident xenophobia that strikes all minorities as offsetting!! It is not just Blacks that sees this. It is across the board. Also, it is embedded in many of the Republicans policies.

There are many Democrats share the same xenophobic outlook as Republicans, but they understand the political game and future trends to realize "If you want power, then you have to bend to reality". In other words, shamelessly pander for minority votes.

If a Republican is offering job training programs, how will he gain the audience of the poor(Note: it isn't just Blacks that are interested in this) if he already turned them away with the "Tapeworm" comment?

Democrats know that education is key to obtaining the American dream. Can you show me where the Democrats are against education? How about work in general? Do you really think the Democrat policy is to place as many people on the Public Dole in order to ensure their base? Even the socialist Barry Sanders is against that!!

If you actually listen to the Democrats, you realize that is not their agenda. That is an opinion crafted by Republicans who does not want to address the employment problem outside of free market capitalism.

The Biggest problem I have with the Democrats is their desire to keep increasing the minimum wage. That is a temporary stop gap that will only devalue the currency. However, as Alan Greenspan pointed out- a devalued currency is a method the Government uses to rob everyone that holds cash.


P.S. The only Party that seems to stand against Education is the Republican party. Disband the Department of Education. Inclusion of religion in the rewriting of science text. Against critical thinking curriculum for students. Non-standardization of Core Curriculum--which basically forces colleges and university to re-test students themselves before granting entry to any of them. In fact, Student Debt is a fast growing problem due to a firm adherenece to free market notions and a lack of options given to,not just students, but workers who wish to improve their lot in life.

Apparently, blacks think that being told they aren't smart enough to get a job and being kept dependent on the government is an expression of love. Looks like the free ride is more important to them than their self respect.

Again, those are the comments that drive minorities away from the Republican party.

Good news--Chris Christie is pretty proficient in communicating ideas to minorities. But his chances of winning the nomination with Rubio, Paul and Bush are slim.

You reject any help Republicans try to give you because somebody said something (the truth) to offend you.
