Black conservative tea party backers take heat

The welfare nanny state.

That has no meaning. It's just a worn-out cliche that's way past its sell-by date.

Of course it has a meaning and you know exactly what it is.

It's the lazyman's way of trying to sound smart, but comes across as just smartASS. It is indeed a phrase that has lost its meaning, unless you get specific. The entire country has played "nannie" to the rest of the world, not just its own poor citizens. Get it?

So is having more children than a poor black woman can handle, or want (and thus more welfare claimants) preferable to abortion? How about community action which requires a lot of hard work by non-politicians? How many people are willing to jump in and try to establish community parenting centers or youth centers?

Why do all of your solutions involve pawning off the responsibility on to somebody else? That's exactly the problem with our society today. How about the responsibility of the potential mother not getting pregnant in the first place?

Black illiteracy has become a genetic problem, transcended through generation after generation of being pushed to the back of the bus (figuratively)..

That is not a genetic problem. Sickle cell anemia is a genetic problem. Down Syndrome is a genetic problem. Illiteracy is the result of bad parenting and apparently the millions we're throwing away on public schooling is real effective too.

What you people fail to acknowledge is that yes, we have a problem--a big one--but just sitting around on your collective ASSES and bitching about it doesn't solve the problem!! What should we do? Allow them to starve and sweep up the debris from the streets later? Just start shooting parents who don't take responsibility for their kids? How about we just sterilize those mothers? How about we ship all poor people, especially blacks and Hispanics, off to their own island somewhere and let them hunt squirrels and eat berries for supper?

WHAT IS YOUR SOLUTION?!!

I'm not sure where you live, but I'm guessing it's not the south. The south is still majority Democratic. They may vote Republican at the Federal level, but at the state level the Democrats are very much entrenched and control everything. Louisiana, Alabama, Mississippi, Arkansas, West Virginia, and North Carolina all have Democrat controlled legislatures and they have been that way since Reconstruction. Tennessee's just flipped in 2008 to Republican for the first time. There have been very few Republican governors in any state down here. The shift to the GOP has been a recent event, mostly in the last 15 years.

The metamorphosis from Dixiecrat to Republican is another myth the left likes to tell.

You read your history and I'll read mine. I lived in Pass Christian, Mississippi, from January 1964 through October 1967, so I was THERE when the Civil Rights Bill was passed. I was THERE when all those pretend compassionate Republicans grumbled and moaned that they would have to share public spaces with 'darkies' who always "knew their place" before, so why'd we need a law?

 In the 1960s, nobody was a Republican in Mississippi or virtually anywhere in the south.

And there you go again with your strict labeling. Everyone knows what they were...racist bigots, whether they had a D or an R in front of their names.

There's probably something wrong if you have to go:

"LOOK! We got black people running as candidates too!"

They're all saying, "LOOK! We got black people running as candidates too!" because they're sick and tired of ass clown socialists telling them they're racists. Of course, you already knew that.

Seriously though, just because your movement has some African Americans running as candidates, doesn't excuse the underlying racism that is seeping from parts of it. Though some people in this thread for example rather ignore the fringe part of the movement because they only see votes instead of things such as principles.

The only underlying racism is in your head. There have only been a handful of people out of the hundreds of thousands of people that have participated in the tea parties that have espoused racist garbage, but you already know that too.

Using your logic, I can conclude the following:

Barack Obama loves the new health care bill.

Fidel Castro praised the new health care bill.

Fidel Castro is a Communist.

Therefore, Barack Obama is also a Communist.

 I hope you won't be shocked if at some future point you see one of your fellow cons on this board saying the exact same thing. And meaning it.

Let me get this straight...did Maggie Mae just say blacks are genetically stupid??

I believe she did!

Time for a new thread! Just when you think a lib can't get any more stupid....

Yeah, it's astounding what you find out when so called "liberals" have a Freudian slip.

I did not say "stupid," stoooooooooooopid. I used the word "illiterate" which I can now include AllieBabba in that category.

Ignorance (illiteracy) is curable; stupidity is not. Get some help.

uptownlivin90 here's a flash for you. By your own admission the Dimocrat party that roughly 90% or so of blacks blindly - and foolishly IMO - supports with their votes has done virtually nothing to change the plight of urban blacks in America. And that's never going to change for the simple reasons that only urban blacks can determine to take advantage of educational opportunities, only urban blacks can determine speaking Ebonics in lieu of standard English is a barrier to any possible success outside their ghettos, only urban blacks can determine their staggering rate of out-of-wedlock births is nothing short of catastrophic, just to name a few of the many systemic problems damning black culture in America.

So, yeah, continue with the denigration and name calling of the few blacks who are too smart to wallow in others' victimhood.

I'm going to blow this bullshit out of the water right here. First of all, your assumption that most successful people of color are republican, is dead wrong. Most middle class blacks and even upper class blacks are still overwhelmingly democrat. THAT being said, there are some issues you mentioned that aren't even unique to blacks at all. Every demographic in this country has it's own accent. I'm from Mississippi, my speech reflects that. I know how to speak properly however, when necessary but I can assure you BEING from Mississippi poor speech is not a so-called "negro" problem.

Additionally "by my own admission" NEITHER party has done anything to address the plight and issues of urban Americans. In matter of fact NEITHER party has done much of anything for anybody in this nation. The fact of the matter is, what the government does has an affect on people's lives. In the cities, the effect has been been largely negative, which is why I am for small government, because it ENHANCES personal responsibility. To pretend though that this monstrosity of a drug war and the prohibition of weapons hasn't massively effected the cities JUST LIKE alcohol prohibition did not massively effect the cities creating Irish, Polish, and Italian gangs back in the 20s, would be ignorant at best. This "Drug War" has done more damage to the inner cities than any other unconstitutional government program known to man. To deny that would be lunacy. The only one of "you" who seem to get it though is probably Ron Paul.

There have been in depth studies and analysis on this. I've been in activism fighting against government expansion and this drug war for the past two years. Exactly how many black people do you know and how long have you lived in an area where poor people of color live?

You are one dumb S.O.B., uptown. I'll address the first two examples and not bother to waste my time on the rest of your tripe.

Kindly inform the class where I made the assumption that most successful people of color are republican?

Saying 'axe' when the proper word to use is ask is not an example of a regional or demographic accent. Nor are, I be going to...or, she be wanting...accents either. They, and countless others, are examples of ignorance that is perfectly acceptable within the black urban populace. Know what um sayin'?

That's called "jive" talk. But "normal" talk would be what comes out of the mouths of some of those white Suthun' rednecks. I don't even now how English grammar is taught in the South. Just sayin'...

Oh, so the Tea Party is going to have some black people working for them, helping them try to force the government out of any involvement in anything that might help the economically disadvantaged in this country,

a disproportionate number of whom happen to be black.

That is elegantly repugnant.

Since when has the government EVER been successful in doing anything but making people MORE economically disadvanted?

Look at Obama's economy right now? You think people want a pittance from the government or a JOB???

So stuff that racist "uncle tom" bit about any black that doesn't live on the liberal plantation being a "race traitor."

The only thing racist is liberals assuming all blacks prefer a handout from "liberal white or black massa" instead of a freaking job.

Not everyone drinks the racist plantation koolaid of the liberals.

It's the Democrats that push education programs so people are qualified to get a job. It's Republicans who sent those jobs overseas. They were voted out of office from incompetency and ruining the economy.

BULLSHIT GENIOUS! Dems helped send the jobs overseas! It was both parties. Pls stop spreading partisan BS. This horrid economy stretches back as far as the Clinton presidency and anyone with an IQ above 70 can grasp that except for partisan hacks like you.

That same year, Clinton signed a landmark trade agreement with the People's Republic of China. The agreement–the result of more than a decade of negotiations–would lower many trade barriers between the two countries, making it easier to export U.S. products such as automobiles, banking services, and motion pictures. However, the agreement could only take effect if China was accepted into the WTO and was granted permanent “normal trade relations” status by the U.S. Congress.

I'm sorry but your BS is just that, BS.

How could more Republicans vote for it in the Senate because there were fewer Republicans in the South? Huh?

That doesn't change more Republicans vote for it.

And if the Republicans more opposed the bill explain why the ONLY OPPONENTS OF IT in the Senate WERE ALL DEMOCRATS.

I hate to break it to you but Richard Nixon was a supporter of the Civil Rights Movement.

Kennedy feared the yellow dog Democrats and only became a supporter of Civil Rigthts after meeting with MLK and being assured by his advisors he would be more popular for it.

I'm sorry but you can make up rationalizations all you want, but the history, tells a different story.

All those who filibustered, WERE DEMOCRATS.

:lol::lol::lol:

Come on now. Let's get serious. You don't really believe that southern conservatives were FOR civil rights.

So now--you want to go back to the 1960's to get a "heartbeat" of what this country thinks today---55 years later!--except of course for KKK Byrd--a democrat who is just about ready to be taken out in a coffin on the senate floor--:lol::lol:

You do realise that most of the hard-core--real racists in this country are now DEAD--don't you? Yet the race card is continually played by politicians--expecially democrats that have blacks in some kind of a choke hold--that they won't let loose on. They're scared to death they might lose this huge voting block.

These are the days the Dems still seem to live in. The way they throw racist accusations out, you would think the right never invites blacks to the party. All races are welcome and always have been. Even in the days when Democrats were turning black voters down from joining their party, Republicans held open arms. The tea party just wants to get our country back to fiscal responsibility. It's not about race to them.

say what?

We know what doors that opened. We are living it.

PAUL GIGOT: Because you saw the organized interests of the liberal Democratic Party, I mean these were not a rag tag bunch out there. This was the AFL-CIO, this was the Machinists, this was the Sierra Club, this was Ralph Nader -- these are people who are going to support Bill Clinton and are going to support the Democrats next fall. And they were out there saying about Bill Clinton's trade policy, "Hell no, we won't go." And Bill Clinton instead of saying you're wrong and this has helped our prosperity and resisting them, he said "I sympathize. You got a point. We're going to bring you in. Who cares if you're demonstrating in the streets? I'm going to give you a policy victory by trying to get your agenda into the world trading organization." I think it is going to do damage his agenda and the free trade cause.

You think illiteracy is genetic?

I was giving you the benefit of the doubt. Obviously that was a mistake, you really are that ignorant.
