Birth Control and Penile Implants

Anyone mention Viagra?

repost: American conservatives gush over life, they proudly claim they are pro life, imagine them raising ten or fifteen of the little angels on a Walmart worker salary and you've gone too far and introduced reality into their dreamworld. Ask the AC to support life in more than just words, and you are faced with the paradox that is at the core of the American Conservative, they only care when the idea remains an abstraction. Ask the AC to support the children they love so much at conception with early childhood support, or lunch programs, or with education, and you've gone too far. Abstractions then turn to sticks.

So why is this? The answer is simple, the American conservative is never for doing things, they are always against doing things. What you say? Quite simple, if real equality existed, or fairness existed, or a level playing field existed, the AC would be lost, for it is privilege and power that is at the heart of this empty worship of ideas. Their empty ideas do nothing and everything, for they support the status quo, and it is the status quo the AC loves. It is why a woman's right to healthcare in the form of contraception or even equal pay is taboo. Change challenges the way things are. If you doubt this consider that no one brought up Viagra as healthcare. Men must still be in charge for the conservative.

Show me the protests against it.

You're really not very good at this.

Perhaps you could find message board posts, letters to the editor, or party platform statements backing up your claim.

Or you can just keep stamping your feet and insisting other people do your homework for you.

Go back through this entire thread. Your side hasn't responded with "I don't support this either". It's responded with "show me were I said I support it".
And you never have.

Your claim is unsubstantiated. You fail.

Anyone testifying in Congress whinging about how expensive Viagra is? Anyone demanding that I have to pay for their Viagra?

In that first paragraph, what you seem to be forgetting is that most of those pro life conservatives are also pro personal responsibility (at least in rhetoric, if you want to nitpick about lazy conservatives. I'm aware they exist, there's worthless bastards in every demographic). You also, via specifically pointing out pro lifers, make the implied statement that, without abortion, parents don't have control over the number of children they raise. You also make the assumption that people who support the freedom of religion side of this argument support it because they don't want women to have birth control, regardless of how many people specify that it's about the government forcing people to provide it, not about whether or not women have access to it. No one brought up viagra because, as Oddball pointed out, the government isn't forcing anyone to provide viagra in their basic health care coverage.

I give Polk props, despite disagreeing with him, for actually addressing the arguments being made. Most of you democrat types, I gotta say, seem pretty adamant about arguing with the argument you want the right to be making, and not with the argument that the right is -actually- making. Rather than responding point for point (as is proper debate), you ignore what the other side is saying and put words in their mouth based on your dogmatically held political prejudices. In short, sir, this argument you've made implies that you're somewhere between fanatic and dumbass.

Well, that wouldn't be much proof of anything.

If you claimed the right supports govt-paid penile implants, that burden is on YOU to support it.

You won't be able to support it, but that doesn't mean that burden isn't on you. And, until you DO support it, it can be taken as utter bullshit until you DO support it.

If the right is so against it, why are they never protesting against it like they protest against birth control? It's the same load of crap where your side claims they were really angry about Bush's spending, but mysteriously never said anything the entire time he was in office.
Your lack of awareness is proof of nothing except your lack of awareness.

Polk, pretending this post isn't here doesn't mean it doesn't exist.
