Bipartisan

I would rather see gridlock than rampant far left liberalism.

Still waiting for someone to point out this 'far left' anything.....

If you prattle and moan this much when you get a wishy-washy moderate Democrat, what are you going to do when you get a Kucinich or a Sanders?

Gridlock will narrow GOP gains in the House, possible cost them a chance at the Senate, and will guarantee Obama's re-election.

Why is the reactionary hatred so palpable?

That is what buried Newt and the Repubs in the early 90s

The American people want Congress to end the petty bullshit

It is only the radical right that welcomes gridlock
and the radical left.....dont forget them.....to sides of the same coin....

Compromise is third place.
compromising gets things done.....your way they are sitting and staring at each other....

Compromise does get thing done, but usually not good things. The left has wanted to remake the US into their socialist utopia for 46 years. Complete Democrat control would have accomplished that goal in ten years. Compromise has only slowed the incremental progress towards that goal.
I for one an happy with the GOP being called the party of no. No more socialist programs no more rewarding laziness. No more imagined "freedoms". The GOP has to insist on incremental return to what the founders intended.

The founders looked at us as an agrarian society that was a third rate power. The country was so dispersed that it took weeks to get information between the states. The population was mostly illiterate and the average life expectancy was in the 40s.

Now I understand why the GOP wants to return to what the founders intended

You call Obama moderate? Keep telling yourself that, at least someone will believe you.

and i suppose some on the right have not been trying to make this Country their Religious Paradise?.....complete Republican Control....with some of the ones we have just seen, just could lead to that.....

and in the mean time things that need fixing get worse.....so lets just let them sit there like a fucking High School Class and throw spit balls at each other.....for a 150 thousand a year....

And damn the USA and all the problems that need to be addressed! All because of your brainwashed paranoia!
With folks like yourself, it's all about YOU and not your country. This country is called the UNITED States of America, not the Right Wing States of America! As I pointed out, every poll of Americans show they DON"T want GRIDLOCK!!!!! They know this country needs action and compromise out of Washington. But then most people aren't narrow-minded ideologues who don't care what's good for their country, most Americans put country first!
Crap like this is why I completely disassociate myself from the radical and fanatic ideologies that are fucking up America.

Folks like myself? You mean people who dedicated their lives to this country? Yes compromise would be nice to have, but as divided as this administration has made us (remember "I won"?) the only compromise the Democrats are interested in is that which gives them their liberal utopia. And I don't expect that the Republicans are interested in giving it to them. Yes I would rather see gridlock than any more 2000 page bills passed without anyone knowing what the hell is in them.

OK, next!

It seems to me that the only party that ever talks about wanting bi-partisanship is the party that is out of power regardless of which party that is.

Immie

Did you read what I posted?

Reid did NOT treat the R minority like the Dem minority was treated by the Rs.

The dem minority did NOT act like the R minority even thought the past R minority treated them like utter trash.

The Rs repayed them by TRASHING anything and everything the dem majority tried to do.

Even shit the Rs themself wrote and sponsered.

Your so full of shit TDM. Its a wonder you can look at yourself in the mirror every morning. Jeeze.

The Reps only control the House. If they had won the Senate as well it would be a whole different ballgame.

Anything they may get passed still has to get by OL'BO and his veto pen.

Should be interesting to see if the Reps can actually do anything. They just don't have the numbers.

Bipartisanship is the only way that they will get anything accomplished. Many of the Dems looking for re-election in 2012 may be more than willing to play ball and support the Reps.

After all. They will be protecting their cushy jobs.

There are a lot of tough decisions to be made and it will not get done without bipartisan support.

The Tea Party ran on cutting spending. It is a noble objective but will not get done without some bipartisan agreement. The Republicans will get nothing done if they attempt to keep the spending they like while they slash the spending the other guy likes.
Each side will have to bring spending cuts to the table and be willing to work for a middle ground

Same ole same ole. Now the Liberal Press will begin their "Republicans MUST be Bipartisan" propaganda campaign. They do this everytime the Republicans get some power. They of course suspend that propaganda campaign when the Democrats have all the power. Funny, you didn't see CNN,NY Times,or NBC demanding the Democrats be Bipartisan and work with Republicans in recent years huh? Now all of a sudden the Republicans "MUST" be Bipartisan though. Just another stupid double standard being pushed by the corrupt Liberal Press.

The Republicans should just ignore the Liberal Press and move forward with their agenda just as the Democrats did these last four years. They have some power now and the People want them to move forward. Bipartisanship is ok sometimes but the Republicans don't have to be forced into forsaking their values & beliefs. The Democrats were anything but Bipartisan these last four years. So shame on the Liberal Press for demanding that of the Republicans. I expect the Republicans to fight hard. That's why they were elected. I expect nothing less of them.

Oh, well LAY IT ON ME, big man! Remember, I'm just a stupid little libbie, I need a big, strong, strapping Conservative, preferably with a funny chinstrap beard, to point out this 'Radical agenda!'

Is it... The dead-center healthcare bill?
Is it... The dead-center tax policy, compromised to a righty tax schedule?
Is it... The dead-center foreign policy?

C'mon, don't speak in code, tell me about the New World Order, or how he wants to throw white people in internment camps, or how he's an Al Qaeda double agent, or whatever silly horse shit you guys believe these days...

Tell me, or I'll hold my breath! You want that on your conscience? Hmm?:eusa_sick:

What in the world happened to "We the People"?
I guess that applies only when it's convenient. A strong majority of "We the People" don't want gridlock, yet that's not what they'll get according to the GOP playbook. "We the People" applies for dismantling Obamacare, that's the excuse that is being used, so what about the rest of what "We the People' want. A good example would be the reform for the financial sector which almost two thirds of the public supported.
"The public supports reform overall by 65-31 percent, a broad margin that's been steady since midwinter, and trusts Obama more than the Republicans to handle financial reform by 52-35 percent, a 17-point advantage for the president in this new ABC News/Washington Post poll."ABC News Poll: Two-Thirds Back Financial Reform - ABC News
BUT
"In an interview with The Washington Post, Rep. Spencer Bachus, R-Ala. -- who will chair the House Financial Services Committee -- said the new GOP majority will examine the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act "provision by provision" and consider changes in the sweeping financial reform law named for its two primary sponsors, Sen. Chris Dodd, D-Conn., and Rep. Barney Frank, D-Mass.

Republican members of the House argued against provisions of the bill including establishment of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, stricter oversight of the derivatives market and new government authority to take over large, distressed financial firms., the Post reported Friday"

GOP to revisit financial reform - UPI.com
In this case it's not protecting "We the People", it's all about protecting the financial sector, who have shown that they just can't be trusted, which cost ordinary people their their wealth/retire funds.

Gridlock is NOT moving forward, it's standing still.
Also, yes the Dems weren't bipartisan the last four years, so that's an excuse to do the same? What are they, a bunch of grade schoolers? From what I have read, the GOP says they want to show America they are the right choice, playing partisan politcs and driving gridlock is not what America wants, they do want to move forward.
This counterproductive crap by both parties sucks.

More likely they will simply maintain things as they are and spending will continue to increase and everyone will keep talking about the need to cut spending but no one will do a doggone thing about it.

Its the same old cut taxes first and worry about cutting spending later.

When it adds too much political baggage to cut spending...they just kick it down the road

The Republicans are a minority with no power to pass legislation. If they want to get things done they will have to work with the other side. That is the way the math works out
Trying to bully when you are a minority will yield gridlock
They need to work like they did in December and give a little to get a little. That is the way government works
Better tahn the last two years with the dimwits and obamaturd in charge.
