"Bin Laden is Dead, General Motors is Alive"

- Bin Laden is dead because of the intel infrastructure Obama inherited.
- General Motors is alive because it was bailed out by the US Taxpayer

Notice, Republicans want to take responsibility for something they had nothing to do with. We already know that the intel Bush left from torture was misleading and dragged out the search. Even when they think they helped, they still fucked up.

"We already know"? Really? How do we know this? Whta makes you think anyone knows this? What evidence do you have to support your position? Do you even have evidence?

That slogan is going to backfire because most Americans see Obamination taking credit from the military and CIA on UBL; and they see GM struggling while Obamination brags about giving unions money to take over the company.

Pretty much idiotic claims by idiots expecting most Americans are idiots like them. See who parrots it here....

That slogan buries Romney

Romney telling autoworkers that he would just let auto companies go bankrupt will cost him the election

I think you're right. What the GOP hasn't noticed is that people aren't ideologues; they pay attention to what the candidates say. Romney pretty much lost MI with that statement.

Calling an idiot, an idiot isn't an insult.

I said it because it ignores the FACTS thrown in its face, then shows some stupid "bankruptcy" newsfeed as proof Romney is evil....when nobody here denies Romney pushed for GM bankruptcy.

The white trash hick parading as a rightwinger won't stop with the endless BS.

Speaking of idiots....

Let Detroit Go Bankrupt
By MITT ROMNEY
Published: November 18, 2008

Are the insults really necessary?

Yeah, because dumb lying slogans work on an idiot like you, so it's ok.:eusa_whistle:

"Unemployment fell to 8.1%"....but don't mention how.
"I got UBL on my watch".....but don't mention the intel from Bush's era.
"I saved GM and Romney wanted them to fail".....but blow off the laws broken and Romney's plan.
"I got us out of Iraq"....ignoring the plan was put in place by Bush.

You are just scum telling lies and half-truths to win elections.

What Mitt basically told a million auto workers was he did not care if they were pawns in an economic showdown

Had GM gone through the normal bankruptcy, there would have been a great many companies that supply auto parts that would have gone bankrupt whether GM made it or not. That is why Toyota and other foriegn manufactures lobbied for the government to do what it did to keep GM from going through normal bankruptcy.

A goodly number of American auto parts manufactures did go bankrupt, shut down and left employees out of work. In addition, thousands of auto dealerships were thrown under the bus in this dumbass deal, and they went out of business leaving many thousands of workers unemployed.

The vast majority of auto parts makers, who did survive due to the auto bailout, were located in Japan, China, Mexico, and Korea.

BTW, GM did go through the normal bankruptcy, and did survive. Once they began making automobiles again, the parts network would have also opened up and rehired their employees. The only thing saved by billions of dollars of taxpayer money was the UAW, a huge Obama contributor. Non union workers also got shoved under the bus.

All workers made major concessions on wages and benefits. They were willing to work for less to save the auto industry

All Romney has to do with this GM argument is point out Obamination gave "your taxpayer money" to union goons to keep them in business and make them more powerful.

There are more taxpayers in this country than GM union goons.....

Bin Laden is dead......GM is alive

Will resonate with all voters. I recommend that Romney attack that

- Bin Laden is dead because of the intel infrastructure Obama inherited.
- General Motors is alive because it was bailed out by the US Taxpayer

Exactly.

Think of what the Hoover Dam (provided by the tax payer) does for business in the Southwest (which would not exist without the Hoover Dam). Or think of what the national interstate (supplied by the taxpayer) does for shipping and commerce. Or think of what the energy grids and water treatment plants or the entire infrastructure of the modern industrial state does for business. Or what about the legal system which protects private property? Have you ever studied the costs associated with this or the public tax dollars required? Or what about the money it takes to protect the financial system so that billions of transactions can take place in one day? Or what about the subsidies and bailouts that the taxpayer has given to business forever? Or what about FDIC insurance which the private sector craves to protect its money?

There is a massive infrastructure which makes profit possible, 90% of which you cannot name. If your party had the honesty and courage to name all of the PUBLIC things upon which profit depends, your criticism would not seem so ironic, true though it is.

Like most liberals, you have difficulty associating cause and effect. We have a society of about 350 million people that need infrastructure in their daily lives. We the people pay for that infrastructure, government does not. We pay government to provide us services that we need, and everyone in America uses those services equally. Business does not prosper because of government, government prospers because of business.

In addition, government is not one big blob, it is layered. We have local and state governments, which we pay to provide most of our services. Then, we have the federal government, which we pay to provide other services. The federal government continually encroaches on, and in many ways duplicates, services that we expect from state and local governments. That encroachment is not good for America. It is not good for individual freedom, and it is inefficient, due to the one size fits all mentality of federal politicians.

What I, as a conservative, desires, is for the federal government to get back to the business that they were contracted to perform, and get the hell out of our everyday lives.

can we say "outsourcing".....? :eusa_shhh:

GM is now building a new plant in Indonesia....incidently Obama's childhood home....

The new GM plant is expected to produce more than 40,000 cars each year and will employ 800 new workers. The workers will be trained with skills and production technical aspects that fit with international quality standards, according to GM.

And what Obama basically told them was here my Union friends, even though your out of touch salaries and outrageous benefits packages is what caused GM to fail... Have some Taxpayer money so we can get back to business as usual.

GM is the only success story a liberal could love. A company that is going into BK twice in 4 years!

General Motors Is Headed For Bankruptcy -- Again - Forbes

he is probably going to have to bail GM out again. The company is once again losing market share, and it seems unable to develop products that are truly competitive in the U.S. market.

Right now, the federal government owns 500,000,000 shares of GM, or about 26% of the company. It would need to get about $53.00/share for these to break even on the bailout, but the stock closed at only $20.21/share on Tuesday. This left the government holding $10.1 billion worth of stock, and sitting on an unrealized loss of $16.4 billion.

Right now, the government’s GM stock is worth about 39% less than it was on November 17, 2010, when the company went public at $33.00/share. However, during the intervening time, the Dow Jones Industrial Average has risen by almost 20%, so GM shares have lost 49% of their value relative to the Dow.

It’s doubtful that the Obama administration would attempt to sell off the government’s massive position in GM while the stock price is falling. It would be too embarrassing politically. Accordingly, if GM shares continue to decline, it is likely that Obama would ride the stock down to zero.

GM is unlikely to hit the wall before the election, but, given current trends, the company could easily do so again before the end of a second Obama term.

In the 1960s, GM averaged a 48.3% share of the U.S. car and truck market. For the first 7 months of 2012, their market share was 18.0%, down from 20.0% for the same period in 2011. With a loss of market share comes a loss of relative cost-competitiveness. There is only so much market share that GM can lose before it would no longer have the resources to attempt to recover.

I don't know the number but it's got to be what, a million or so maybe?

"UNITED STATES

Number of abortions per year: 1.37 Million (1996)
Number of abortions per day: Approximately 3,700"

Republicans had control of the country for eight years. If they cared, why didn't they ban abortion?

Abortion has been legal in this country for 40 years. It isn't going to change

We had a Republican President when Roe vs Wade passed

Roe vs Wade did not pass anything, it was an edict from those supposedly wise assholes on the Supreme Court.
