Billy Graham Likens America to Sodom & Gomorrah

If this was part of a sermon given in 1962 then it shows that we have not changed course since then. We are even more wicked and even more deserving of God's wrath.

In 1965 Paul Harvey read an essay "If I were the Devil". That essay is more true today than it was in 1965.

We're likely on par with Sodom and Gomorrah. Judgment day is just around the corner. Not enough Christians left to turn the tide without the supernatural presence of God. But our future (the world's future) has already been written down in the annals of Prophetic history. So, instead of praying that the tide be turned it's much better to pray that "God's will be done on earth as it is in Heaven."

I do agree with you to some extent. After reading the teachings of Jesus and comparing that to modern Christianity, there are hardly any Christians at all.

Why people give so much credibility to one millenial old book but none of the vastly older ones baffles me. Did it ever occur to any of you God might well exist but have zero to do with Christianity?

I'll take the America of today over the America of 1962 any day
Yeah, me too.

Did it ever occur to you, that God gave Israel thousands of years, to follow Him, and they rejected Him, so often(even in the middle of miracles, i.e. The Exodus), that He decided to start over, and now has nothing to do with Israel?

Actually it has. And the notion is rejected since despite numerous attempts to do away with Israel, they remain undefeated. If God abandoned Israel they should have been defeated long ago.

Who the fuck does Billy Graham think he is to compare a great nation like the US to Sodom and Gomorrah?
Doesn't he realize that the U.S. provides more humanitarian aid around the world than any other nation? Doesn't he understand the great contributions we have made to medical research, agriculture, technology that has saved millions of lives?
And Graham and Katzndogs want God to kill us?

Undefeated? Really? I can go the The Bible and find a time or several where Israel fell.

They are unrelenting, and determined, but far from undefeated. If they are undefeated, tell me, where is their Temple?

I do believe the Old Covenant came to an end and God literally "divorced" Israel (Jeremiah 3:8) and He replaced the Old Covenant with the New which opened up salvation to ALL believers. However, the Bible (James 1:1 and Revelation 7) indicate that there is still a special place in God's heart for all twelves tribes of Israel (not just Judah). Also, in reading Arthur Koestler's book, The Thirteenth Tribe, I question whether or not the folks calling themselves "Israel" today are even related to biblical Israel:

Revelation 2:9 and 3:9 state that there would be a people who "call themselves Israel but are not."

Of course. God has nothing to do with any religion.

Why would God suddenly stop interacting and communicating with His creation when the last book of the OT was written? Clearly, even the OT prophesied of the coming King, Jesus Christ. So the story doesn't end at the last sentence of Malachi.

You take care of you and yours. No one else matters. America is turning into a nation of sexual deviants and drug addicts. Stay as far away as you can from the corrupt soup.
Which are you?

I am sure sequels have been made.

Graham is 95 and reportedly often bedridden at his home in Montreat, N.C. His commentary in the October issue of Decision, under the headline “Turning the Tide of History,” was reprinted from a sermon he delivered Jan. 7, 1962 on the Hour of Decision radio program.

That old bible thumping cracker raked in billions from those with lesser IQ's
The thing that sticks in my mind most about S & G , is how Lot, a father, was willing to send his two virgins daughters out to the men so they could have their way with them.
and this is the man God chose to save.
He offered his daughters to protect the travelers under his protection. It was a noble offer of sacrifice. The men were homosexual. They weren't interested in women. They had rape of the male travelers on their minds. Travelers that Lot already knew were Angels sent to destroy the city.

Right he knew they were angels sent to destroy the city , so he didn't think they could fend for themselves? How any man can offer his dtrs to men for rape without first dying to defend them is well not really noble at all. I have to disagree with you.

First of all, nowhere in the Bible does it tell us that Lot knew these men were Angels sent to destroy the city. He thought they were going to stay the night and depart in the morning.

Genesis 19:
1The two angels arrived at Sodom in the evening, and Lot was sitting in the gateway of the city. When he saw them, he got up to meet them and bowed down with his face to the ground. 2“My lords,” he said, “please turn aside to your servant’s house. You can wash your feet and spend the night and then go on your way early in the morning.”
“No,” they answered, “we will spend the night in the square.”

Now, by using a little common sense, we can deduce that Abraham sent word to Lot that some men were coming to see him, and that they were to be treated as Abraham's honored guests. This would make these men, more important than anyone else, in Lot's eyes, more important than his own daughters, or himself.

Genesis 19:
3But he insisted so strongly that they did go with him and entered his house. He prepared a meal for them, baking bread without yeast, and they ate. 4Before they had gone to bed, all the men from every part of the city of Sodom—both young and old—surrounded the house. 5They called to Lot, “Where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us so that we can have sex with them.”
6Lot went outside to meet them and shut the door behind him 7and said, “No, my friends. Don’t do this wicked thing. 8Look, I have two daughters who have never slept with a man. Let me bring them out to you, and you can do what you like with them. But don’t do anything to these men, for they have come under the protection of my roof.”

let me, I pray you, bring them out unto you, and do ye to them as is good in your eyes; this was a very great evil in Lot to make such an offer of his daughters; it was contrary to parental love and affection, an exposing the chastity of his daughters, which should have been his care to preserve; nor had he a power to dispose of them in such a manner: and though fornication is a lesser evil than sodomy, yet all evil is to be avoided, and even it is not to be done that good may come: nothing can be said to excuse this good man, but the hurry of spirit, and confusion of mind that he was in, not knowing what to say or do to prevent the base designs of those men; that he might be pretty certain they would not accept of his offer, their lust burning more after men than women; that this showed his great regard to the laws of hospitality, that he had rather sacrifice his daughters to their brutal lusts, than give up the men that were in his house to them; and that he might hope that this would soften their minds, and put them off of any further attempt; but after all it must be condemned as a dangerous and imprudent action:

only unto these men do nothing; for as yet he knew them not to be angels; had he, it would not have given him the concern it did, since he must have known that they were able to defend themselves, and that the sin these men offered to commit could not be perpetrated on them: but he took them for mere men, and his request is, that no injury might be done to their persons in any respect, and especially in that way which their wicked hearts put them upon, and is so shocking to nature:

for therefore came they under the shadow of my roof; for though it was not their intention in coming, nor the design of Providence in bringing them into Lot's house, to secure them from the violence of the men of Sodom, but for the preservation of Lot and his family, which as yet he knew nothing of, yet it was what Lot had in view in giving the invitation to them: and the laws of hospitality being reckoned sacred and inviolable, a man's house was accounted an asylum for strangers when taken into it.

I do not know why an omnipotent god needs so many self-appointed messenger boys to tell the world what he wants and how to live. I would think that, if Christianity were god's true faith, more than just 25-percent of the world would have converted over the past 2,000 years.

America, and the world hasn't seen nothing yet until the pretrib rapture and the AC being revealed.
