Billions made off the backs of Union Workers at UAW GM

I know people who have lived off their pension longer than they actually worked.

Do the math. It's unsustainable.

I heard a caller to a radio show some time back say just this.He worked for so many years at the auto company but when he retired he collected a pension for more years then he actually worked. He collected medical benefits for more years then he worked.

How can a company survive paying someone a salary and benefits for the 20+ years that person worked then pay pension and medical for another 30+ years.....on top of that.
Oh and the Medical covered the family as well.:cuckoo:

Generally that is why you have workers...to make money.

So whats the problem?

Generally you work to make your corporation more money, so they can pay you higher wages and benefits. Ask a CEO. That is the problem. The profits are being skimmed off the backs of workers and handed to lazy assed investors in the stock market, who never worked a day in their lives. Then the right whinnies pout Union members are making too much money. With billions rolling to the stock market, the only one making money here is investors, CEO & board members.

Uh, the bailouts were for the UAW, not GM.

You are upside down. GM needed the bailout to pay for contracts it negtotiated.

so I now pay for a contract negotiated between 2 parties in which I have zero interest or stake in? great thx..the fact that that irony escapes you speaks volumes.

And this thread is about the profits made that are headed to the stock market.

whatever.

The fact that you can't get your sticks in order speaks volumes about yourself. Oh, you are thanking the wrong people, try the GM CEOs, investors & board members. OK?

How much of GM's profits was from sale of products and how much from sales of GM divisions?

How much wood does a wood chuck chuck, if a wood chuck could chuck wood? Your gawwds gave you an internet. Search.:eusa_angel:

Get a grip on the real world. Your union hack crap is getting droll.

And your union boys and girls weren't paid? Its called business. Businesses are for the sole profit of its owners. They employ people, pay them to do a job, so that money can be maid.

You don't work so you can force an employer to pay you higher wages.

Dear Shinto, or what the fuck ever, in your failed OP you ask for a single company that has made the money that GM makes without unions. I give you Wal Mart, shove that in your unionfied ass. Unions suck.

Legacy costs are why the Big Three almost went under. Google Legacy costs you dumb fuck.

You will have to go get your reference and bring him here to debate the issue with you. Oh, and his family as well.:cuckoo:

I knew a guy who delivered milk on roller skates, who was married to the third daughter of wealthy raspberry farm owner, who talked to a guy in a subway that knew a cousin of a UAW worker in Canada, that visited a UAW worker in Michigan every summer, that has a neighbor he was cheating on his wife with, that also happened to know a CEO at GM she gave back rubs to on Wednesday nights, and she says the UAW workers are getting fucked over on wages and benefits and all the profits are going to rich bastards in the stock market. So there you go.

You don't? I guess you need a lesson in Capitalism little scab. You work to make a living. Ever hear of that?

Same thing with government employees, including military.

I think a congressmen has to complete one term to get his benefits, so "I quit" Palin wouldn't ever get a pension.

Still the same thing for govt workers and unsustainable.
On all levels, local, state and federal.

Walmart is a good example. Their unoraginzed scab employees are shit on daily and don't get a fair share of the profits. It is a haven for government subsidzed minimum wage workers. Correct me if I am wrong. You are paying taxes to support these low income people survive. But you hate Union workers. :cuckoo:

Most certainly. People working low paying jobs that have children almost always get "food Stamps" free school lunches, CHIPS, etc

A form of tax dollars helping low paying jobs to exist or corporate welfare of a different sort you might say.

Prove it is unsustainable. IF I make a corporation a billion dollars in a year & retire on a pension, is that pension unsustainable? Is your pension unsustainable?

Poor union thug showing your colors already. Yes, you work to make a living and if you dont like the living your employer is paying you then you should leave and fine a new job. Workers are there to work. End of story.

Capitalism= non union.
Socialism= unions.

GM Stock Sale: Union Wins, Taxpayers Lose

lazy-worker.jpg

General Motors Co.’s recent stock offering was staged to start paying back the government for its $50 billion bailout, but one group made out much better than the taxpayers or other investors: the company’s union.

Thanks to a generous share of GM stock obtained in the company’s 2009 bankruptcy settlement, the United Auto Workers is well on its way to recouping the billions of dollars GM owed it — putting it far ahead of taxpayers who have recouped only about 30 percent of their investment and further still ahead of investors in the old GM who have received nothing.

The boon for the union fits the pattern established when the White House pushed GM into bankruptcy and steered it through the courts in a way that consistently put the interests of the union ahead of many suppliers, dealers and investors — stakeholders that ordinarily would have fared as well or better under the bankruptcy laws.
Union claims ordinarily do not receive such special treatment in bankruptcies.

LOL all congress does is spend our money they do not make any money for anyone except corporations that rent their vote. Same for virtually all govt employees.

If YOU single handily made your corporation a billion dollars a year, sure your pension would be sustainable. I doubt each and every union worker makes a billion dollars a year for their employer.

Poor lil scab, kisses ass to keep a job. Scab doesn't know that if you don't like your benefits you renegotiate with the company, not tuck you tail and run. Workers are there to make lots of money, but your lack of knowledge on capitalism, has left the lil scab kissing ass and whimpering. Tsk. You really should get off your knees scab.
