They've already been burned once by Congress, but investors in online gambling companies stocks think Lady Luck is finally on their side now that Rep. Barney Frank is introducing a bill to propose that online gambling be legalized and regulated in the United States.

Getting the bill through the Senate will be the hardest part, according to Joe Kelly of the State College of Buffalo. But success could mean publicly traded firms outside the U.S. can re-enter the market after a 2006 law prohibiting online gambling by Americans booted them out.

Seems like a wise idea. After all, I gamble on-line all the time and since it's "illegal" I don't pay taxes on any winnings.

Why not? We already use the lottery to fund social programs.

I don't have a problem with online gambling. Hell, twenty fucking years ago Missouri introduced casinos on our rivers under the concept that waterways were not necessarily in state. Now, we have casinos that build moats around drydocked "boats" in order to comply to retarded fucking legislative hoops. Personally, I think that gambling is a Tax on the Stupid but.. hey.. whatever, uh.. floats yer boat.

I support stupid taxes. With the exception of those deemed genetically challenged, stupid people need to pay more in taxes.

This is precisely why we need to legalize mj and tax the shit out of it. I'm also pro-lottery, pro-gambling, pro-prostitution, and pro-cigarette taxes.

USMB will suffer if this is passed. Most of us will spend our time gambling away our paychecks instead of solving the world's problems.

Or USMB could install a poker room where we all get to debate each other while I kick all of your asses with a 2-6 off suit in Texas Hold 'Ems.
