Bill Maher Gets Owned

Eh?

Brazil... Population: 196 million. Uses about 2.5 billion barrels a day of oil
United States: 310 billion. Uses about 18.5 billion barrels a day of oil

Now... that's just quick numbers. It could very well be true that Bill Maher was "owned" as it were. But just saying it and looking at the general numbers suggests that whatever Brazil is doing is... Working. o.0
GDP - per capita (PPP) - Country Comparison

Brazil's GDP per capita is $11,900.

The US's GDP per capita is $49,000.

What's "working" for Brazil is that it's a lot poorer than the US.

But, hey, Obama's working on that.

I love how these Environmental libs talk about oil when they are in HUGE mansions drive around in limousines and take private planes. The biggest one AL Gore who is making tons of money off this shit and his house is far from GREEN

Is it still? From what I remember he was fighting town or city or county or state ordinances to get the permissions for the solar panels that would have MADE his house "green."

Do you have a link that proves Gore's house is not "green".

Barb, the bottom line is that Gore was and is still a hypocrite in regards to his green ideology.

Damn! we still have a long way to go down to compete with Brazil in the global marketplace.

Not sure why you think the US getting as poor as Brazil is a good thing, but I think I'll pass.

Instead of fucking up our country, why don't you move to Brazil?

GDP = Brazil about 25% of the US.
Oil Consumption = 13% of what the US uses.

So... Essentially Brazil is damn near twice as efficient with it's oil use?

But it's so important to some Americans to support those oil companies.

Yeah... It bothers me that Americans in general have a hard time looking to see what other countries do that might actually be helpful to us.

Don't get me wrong... This is a bullshit topic and a shitty ass way to make cheaper gas as per the video... ( We subsidize corn farmers for ethanol ) But it's obvious that they have some other things going on that perhaps we should look at.

And what causes that "efficiency"?

Poverty.

Is that what you want for the US?

You can move to Brazil and live in poverty if you like. No one's stopping you.

1. This video is from two years ago.
2. Maher oversold it a bit, but his general point was right. A significant amount of Brazil's fuel comes from domestic ethanol.
