There is a term to quantify this type of thinking by white left wing elitists. It's the soft bigotry of low expectations concerning their view of brown people

The Biden administration announced a plan to expand tuition breaks for future teachers and remove GPA requirements for grant recipients in hopes of providing access to “students of color.”

Math is racist. College Boards are racist. GREs are racist, PE exams are racist. Medical school is racist. Lawyers BAR exam is racist.
WTF??

If they can't pass grade school or high school, WHAT makes the Dems think they are going to do any better in a college? WHY even bother? Just hand them a diploma when they are born!!
Would you prefer they don’t go to college? Where do you think that road leads?

Trade school. Anywhere that their talents suit the job requirements.

Dumbass affirmative action teachers teaching American students. What could possibly go wrong?

Instead of being ranked a dismal 21st in the world in education like we are now we will nose dive to an even more dismal 121.

You can be become a teacher not knowing your ass from a hole in the ground about the subject you are teaching because the Libtards think it is racist to test you on the subject.

Why not college where they can further develop and hopefully find what talents they have?

The U.S. Department of Education (ED) today announced changes to the Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education (TEACH) Grant Program, the only federal student aid grant program that directly benefits teachers working in high-need fields and underserved schools. ED implemented the changes as the Biden-Harris Administration proposes further enhancements to the program through the American Families Plan, which would double the annual grant amount, increase program flexibilities, address high grant-to-loan conversion rates, and ensure better outcomes for teachers and students.

"Our teachers are champions of students' potential and stewards of their success. Respecting and honoring teachers who serve students with the greatest needs also requires that we ensure these educators receive the support to which they are entitled from this important federal program without having to jump through unnecessary hoops," said U.S. Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona. "The changes announced today deliver much-needed improvements to the TEACH Grant. And, through the American Families Plan, even greater investments will be made in the program to strengthen teacher pipelines into the profession, support teacher retention, and address critical teacher shortages so that every child across America can be taught by well-prepared and outstanding educators."

The announcement from the Dept of Ed doesn't mention a drop of GPA.

That reminds me of a radio meme from the 1970's in Philadelphia. There was a very tough police officer, police commissioner, and eventually mayor of Philadelphia, named Frank Rizzo.

The radio meme, short version, went something like:
"Don Cannon, Don Cannon, there's only one thing that kept me out of college"
"what's that Mr. Mayor?"
High School.

We already know what kids talents are and are not if/when they graduate HS.

In Germany they have fantastic programs that combines Community College programs with the skill sets needed by industry. Companies can fund programs for machinists, or HVAC technicians, or IT experts, or hi-tech welders, or automation engineers, or jobs on assembly lines. Whatever their skill sets can achieve. Maybe even the military?

As BO said its tough finding work with an "Art History" degree. College isn't for everyone.

Nothing is more sad than a teacher which is a student that never left school for the real world

Tech schools have really upped their game over the past 20 years in my area. Just as you described, there are great opportunities out there for many young people who focus on perfecting a skill that's in demand. Corps are offering paid internships straight out of high school (example certain chain pharmacies will hire hs grads and provide paid training for Pharmacy Tech for instance). Companies paying for half college tuitions (some, even all of it) also available nationwide. I remember thinking at one time that a company that needs employees would advertise, but that's not the case for many businesses.
