A long, complicated history of competing interests and agendas is connected to the issue of bilingual education. Like clockwork, the topic heats up every ten years or so.

Bilingual Education: A Critique

Where the history went wrong was the point where bi-lingual educational was no longer a BRIEF, INTENSE, transitional effort. When you are FORCED to teach advanced placement topics such as chemistry, physics in other languages --- it saps the LIFE out of the limited resources available. And screws over the MAJORITY of kids who now have to compete for spots in those fewer "english" versions of those classes.

While that most likely is true for public schools, it doesn't apply to private schools.
