'cause there ain't no water. The latest atrocity visited by the Feds on AZ: HISTORIC WESTERN TOWN OF TOMBSTONE FIGHTS FEDS OVER ITS VERY EXISTENCE

Yep, that's right. Long recognized access to property in the Huachuca Mountains owned and maintained by the town of Tombstone that provides drinking water and water for fire protection/suppression has now been denied by officials of the obama administration; well, unless the townsfolk want to saddle up and dig their trenches by hand. But there are far more sinister implications to this despicable government overreach...

Obama has a way of making states who don't kiss his ass pay. Look what he did to the Gulf states and oil. Shut all new drilling down by federal proclamation.

It's time to get rid of dictator Obama and his DNC co-conspirators who have declared wars on unfriendly-to-socialistic-commies states.

The only way to do that is by unseating the wannabe Maos in November.

Tombstone, like anyother entity must get Federal Permits to work on Federal lands

Judge: Tombstone water system repairs must wait for permits

If you'd bother reading the article, Tombstone owns the land they want to work on. The Feds are stonewalling permits to access that private inholding, despite there never having been an issue prior to this administration.

clearly you did not understand what you read. The city owns the pipes and such infrastructure, not the land.

They went before a judge and the judge decided Tombstone did not establish an urgency to override the need to get a permit

What it all boils down to is the town needs to fix this water thing, but the Big Gov bureaucracy is worried about the rare Spotted Dung Beetle and needs to make sure the town doesn't harm the Spotted Dung Beetle and it's habitat in the process.

That is basically it

People don't realize how protected the Arizona desert is. You just don't run in a bulldozer and start tearing crap up. Tombstone knows this as well as anyone. There are also archeological sites in the Huachuca Mountains that are protected

Tombstone owns property rights to the land, even if they do not hold the deed. The feds had no problem for 130 years when the town used equipment to maintain their water resources, so what's changed now? Hhhmmmm....can you say 'obama'?
Once again, we witness this administration over-stepping and creating a situation that will damage an entire town. Why do you think that is?

Tombstone has property rights to 25 mountain spring heads and all of the water rising and flowing in two canyons in the Huachuca Mountains. Bundled with those rights are access roads and pipeline rights of way. Until last year, the U.S. Forest Service recognized and respected those rights, which date back to the days of Wyatt Earp. Today, the federal government denies they exist and refuses to allow Tombstone to restore more than three of its spring water catchments.

So you consider protecting some obscure beast or plant, or some archaeological site more vital and important than the survival of human beings?

They went to the judge and he did not think their water situation was critical enough to warrant waiving permit requirements. The area around Tombstone is environmentally sensitive and the canyons contain many ancient archeological sites. Might as well do it right

I know what the area is like, I lived there over a year. I am also quite aware that AZ is a thorn in obama's ass, so his administration is making things as miserable as possible every chance they get. I hope, sure as hell, that the state finds your Dear Leader ineligible to appear on their ballot in Nov. I only wish our state administration had the same kind of cojones.

Rightwing propaganda .......Obama is picking on me!

Tombstone will survive, they will eventually get their permit and we will be sure the environment is protected and people will still mock birthers
