Better CPU cooling

The Sandia Cooler.
Essentially it's an impeller and consists of three parts, the fins the base and the brushless motor. It's 10% smaller than the typical heatsink, 30% more efficient and much quieter.

This is great. My pc creates lots of sound and hence I cant concentrate on my work properly. Anyway, I am planning to buy such kind of cooling system.

Appears to work like a water pump, only it moves air instead.

Unfortunately it's still in the prototype stage. The fan applications are endless, not only computer but any heat generating environment such as commercial lighting, A/C systems, etc.
Who knows, it could replace the blower fans in home HVAC systems and maybe even in the heat pumps, making them much more efficient and quieter.

Those impeller shafts are quite fragile, and usually the first thing to fail.
Will be interesting to see where this goes.
