I really think that's what it came down to. It's not a referendum on the nation, a terrible shift in our country or because Americans are mostly lazy and entitled.
Obama won women and minorities in huge margins and according to exit polls he was the candidate people felt was "in touch" with them. He also did a damn fine job of painting Mitt in to "the rich mans" candidate. People felt like Romney was only out for the 1%.
