Is this the best opening weekend that college football has ever had?

So many teams start the season, not with a cupcake, but with a known, respected opponent.

Plenty of great games starting Thursday night September 1st.

Alabama - USC
Auburn - Clemson
Oklahoma - Huston
UCLA - Texas A&M
LSU - Wisconsin
North Carolina - Georgia
Notre Dame - Texas
Ole Miss - Florida State

Just ready for my Tide to stomp some Trojan ass!

~~ROLL TIDE ROLL!

Bama will beat the Trojans soundly. Their weaknesses are the O and D lines.

Work interrupted this post yesterday.

Most experts agree that football games are won or lost in the trenches. Bama's O line is solid. That means protection for the QB and holes for the RBs. Bama D line is one of the best in the nation. That means disruption of the young QB's world.

If Bama can run the ball, the passing game opens up. If the D line can pressure USC's QB without bringing up help, Bama can cover against the pass.

At halftime, the TN Volunters are losing to App State 13-3. Wow! Sports media people had the Vols set to win the SEC East.
