I don expect the gov to lead my life. I just appreciate the many functions you take for granted. I am all for paying my taxes to continue those functions. And no, I don't expect welfare.

Also when politicians waste our money and then demand we pay more. For which we get nothing.

Actually, I DO mind paying taxes. I hate having to pay for government projects which do nothing to improve the lives of the people of this country. It frosts me to no end to see a budget sent to the president with special interest tax relief riders attached to it - that's stealing my money by not requiring everyone to pay their fair share and leaving the rest of us to pick up the slack.

But many of those tax relief riders are your deal. Not ours.

And the rest of us will always have to pick up the slack, as long as you demand government spend more.

Let's cut those government programs that give out your money to people who have not earned it.

See the myth is that "if we could get others to pay their 'fair share', then you wouldn't have to pay it."

But that has never worked throughout all of human history.

The soviet union at the end was starving to death. But everyone paid their fair share. China had hundreds of millions of deaths, and people were living on less than $2 a day. 63% of the population was below the poverty level. But everyone paid their fair share.

When you look at Europe, the poorest people in those countries, pay higher taxes than we do. So yes, they get more "benefits", and they pay much higher taxes.

France tried this "let's make the rich 'pay their fair share', and the rich packed up their jobs and businesses, and left.

Venezuela tried this, and over a million people left the country.

Over and over and over, every time you think you are going to get OTHER people to pay for YOUR benefits, it doesn't work.

If you want to keep more of your money, then you have to cut government spending. If you want more government benefits, YOU are going to pay for it.

That's how it works.

In some regards, he's onto something. But keep in mind, not all Scandinavian Governments are Communist/Socialist. Sanders is likely cherry-picking.
