Sanders leads Biden by 3%.
Sanders also leads Donald Trump in a general election matchup by 7%.
It will be hard for conservatives to refute this poll because they have always said that CNN is out to get Bernie, so it would make no sense for CNN to be pushing Bernie.

The CNN poll is a NATIONAL poll, the Democrat Nomination is decided STATE BY STATE.

National polls don't mean all that much because they can't account for a candidate leading in one state by a landslide (say California) which doesn't translate into a significant advantage in terms of overall delegates.

The other factor they don't account for is MOMENTUM where winners of early states tend to build an advantage in subsequent state primaries/caucuses.

That being said, it's not bad news Bernie, it's just not the OMG WE GONNA WIN! news that fanboys are going to make it out to be.

The election was not conducting during "most of 2016". The election took place in November. Pollsters aren't supposed to guess November numbers in July.
