Obergefell never made the insane claim that children are part of the marriage contract or that they require separate representation in a court case on who may marry. The Supreme Court could rely upon precedent(along with their knowledge of the actual law)- since children have never been represented in any of the cases before the Supreme Court regarding the right to marry- remember Obergefell is simply the 4th marriage law that the Supreme Court found unconsitutional- none of the other 3 had lawyers for future imaginary children represented either.

There was no debate on "harming children of gays vs what a contract for life banishing kids involved from either a mother or father does to girls and boys". That debate was required. Why do you want to bar children from having counsel brief on their behalf in a contract the Court Itself said they share benefits from?
