DUBAI (Reuters) - An Islamist web site published a statement Monday purporting to come from an al Qaeda-linked group vowing revenge on the United States and its allies over Israel's assassination of Hamas leader Sheikh Ahmed Yassin.
"We tell Palestinians that Sheikh Yassin's blood was not spilled in vain and call on all legions of Abu Hafs al-Masri Brigades to avenge him by attacking the tyrant of the age, America, and its allies," said the statement by Abu Hafs al-Masri Brigade carried by the al Ansar forum Web Site.

The group, which aligns itself to Osama bin Laden's al Qaeda network, had claimed this month's train bombings in Spain. There was no means of verifying the statement.

Oh boy! Remind me again what we get for pumping billions into Israel and waging its wars in the Middle East?

This just in, from Iraq Has Nothing To Do With Israel Dept.:

In Mosul, the third-largest city of occupied Iraq, about 500 students demonstrated against the killing of Yassin on the campus of the university, burning an Israeli and an American flag and chanting anti-American slogans.

Remember, of course, the assurance from the neocons that we would be welcomed in Iraq.

Anyone wanna rethink our war on the entire frickin' world for the pleasure of Israel? Anyone? Remember when America was the country that mattered?

Oh no, muslim terrorists have vowed to attack America.....wait, don't they say that everyday?

Oh well, another one bites the dust. You can thank the Jews for the happiest day of your life Sheik Yassin.

"The day in which I will die as a shahid [martyr] will be the happiest day of my life."

live by explosives, Die by them!! as another member has said .......you are either pro-active or re-active, which would you rather be? I damn sure know what I am.

We were welcome in Iraq. Their view on Israel is quite different though and thats understable. After all saddam blaming Israel for everything for tons of years.

BTW last time i checked 500 was a large amount of demostrators, it only seems large when its an Anti Israel or Pro Communism..i mean anti war event.

Let me count the ways:

1. Pragmatically such aid continues to secure the original agreement between Isreal and Egypt, the two most capable neighbors in the region, to continue to choose to recieve billions in their respective aid packages that hinges upon them both keeping the peace and prevening another war between each party. Such war would be immesurably more costly to the US in due to the instabilty and and economic impact on our economy in long run of a renewed major conflict.

2. Morally, there is an argument in providing aid to the single democracy in the region able to grant equal rights to all citizens to practice religion and reasonably prohibit racial discrimination.

3. Logically, the attack on Spain claimed by a vehemently anti-Western ideology was designed to push the leadership into the same camp as EU socialism (France & Germany as leaders). The results of this success serve the anti-US agenda more significant than an anti-Isreal agenda. Weakening the Iraq coalition does far more damage to the US power and prestige than it does to weaken US support of Isreal.

Your anti-Zionist / racial stance in prior posts indicate your political position to the far right of the spectrum. Do you realize that your terrorist appeasing, Israel blaming, Hammas supporting position is shared by your opposites from the left? Now that Neo-Nazi agenda is now consistent with the leftist anti-Zionist/Western socialism, both groups should take a long hard look at their respective ideology.

Peace will never be realized in the Middle East. The US can mop up messes from here to whenever, but eventually, it won't work.

These people love to fight for any reason. Religion just happens to be convenient.

We need to get out of it, and bring all US personnel home, IMHO.

So, we pay to have the hole dug, and pay again to have it filled up? Uh huh. Brilliant. It would be cheaper to take over Saudi by force and declare it a U.S. territory.

You must be joking. ISRAEL a "democracy" seeking to grant equal rights? Dude, they destroy Arabs/Palestinians/Muslims as a matter of official state policy. Israel is a state for Jews, and only Jews, and pretty every leader since David Ben Gurion has said so.

This doesn't make any sense. "EU socialism" is a Jewish neocon concoction that doesn't mean anything more than, "Won't support our dirty little race-nation project." Jews using "socialism" as an epithet. That's rich. Even for Jews.

Nobody on the left is a racist, as I am, but the fact that they've figured out the bullshit the Jews are trying to pull is fine by me. And it's not just the left, it's increasing portions of liberals and some mainstream conservatives (Pat Buchanan most prominent) as well. Face it. Too many people see the truth for the game to go on much longer.

Brilliant. It would be cheaper to take over Saudi by force and declare it a U.S. territory.

No, that would be insane. You’d bring the wrath of all Muslims down on the US for no good reason. The Saudi Government itself is not hostile, and has acted to contain the terrorist elements much more effectively than a direct US occupation could. Plus we get first dibs on the oil already there under a long-standing alliance, so either way such invasion is rather less than brilliant.

You heard me, a democracy. Granting equal rights. One third of Israel is non-Jewish, they vote, freely worship, demonstrate, and have the same legal protections as and minorities in America . You don’t see the same minority status protected ANYWHERE in the Middle East, do ya???

Actually, it’s AP and Reuters and everyone else using the term also. EU socialists use the term “socialism” in various tranlations. It's not always a Jewish conspiracy Will! :fifty:

To me it’s just more proof to me that the Left is flirting with fascism and using Jew hatred to further the anti-capitalist agenda. And a “mainstream” conservative like Buchanan (the right-most 2%?) jumps into the crowd because they are all :cuckoo:

How far out there on the right are you William???

:whip:

I fully support our aid to Israel. I mean, think of it this way. What if, as soon as we had won our revolution and secured our little plot of land over here in the western hemisphere, the Spanish, who owned much of the rest of the hemisphere, decided they didn't like us because we were protestant rather than catholic, so they sent dozens of people into our cities every day to kill dozens of our citizens. Because of this, we put up border guards and only let people into our country under extreme scrutiy, since the Spanish were so determined to get in to kill us. We also kept watch on anybody of Spanish origin and refused to acknowledge any claim of Spanish land within our established territory. We all did this with the support of Portugal and their vast resources. Of course, Spain will tell everyone that America is oppresive towards Spaniards. Well of course we're a bit leary of Spaniards, they've been KILLING US. They also criticize Portugal for aiding in the defense of our country. Eventually, we track down the guy who's been masterminding all these attacks and we kill him, finally eliminating a man responsible for hundreds of deaths and thousands more wounded, but the rest of the world calls US murderers for taking him out and politically destroys Portugal for providing support.

The reason "Palestinians" are have such limited freedoms in Israel is that when they did have freedoms, many used those freedoms to blow up Israeli school buses, marketplaces, and kill hundreds of Israeli civilians. They've been experiencing 9/11 24/7 since they got there and this guy was their Osama bin Laden. We shouldn't be mourning his death and reprimanding Israel. We should be congratulating them for eliminating one of their biggest enemies and one of the most notorious terrorists in the world. The only reason the idea that Hamas is somehow a legitimate organization is only tolerated because they haven't hit any American targets. If they blew up our embassy or attacked our fleet, our military would sweep over the West Bank and the Gaza Strip like a swarm and wipe out every known Hamas member we could find.

The nation of Islam was founded in 622 A.D. which makes it about 1,382 years young this year. Cross your fingers that they grow up soon. Most of them have and exist in relative peace with other religions... just not in the Middle East.

Think of what the Christian Religion was doing when it was 1,382 years old. We burned heretics and Religious war ravaged Europe... A cardinal's word was law in the eyes Christians. In my opinion, the teaching of Martin Luther was a very big growing spurt for Christianity which is still a young religion (compared to Judiasm which was founded by Abraham some 4000 years ago?). Hopefully Islam gets a great reformer like Luther in the Middle East before it is too late.

Christians are very close to the Jewish faith even though we obviously disagree on a few things... :slap: ... They're God's chosen people... therefore it's out duty to protect them. Whether or not that idea has been lost... underneath that is where it began.

They're God's chosen people... therefore it's out duty to protect them.

So say the Jews. Is it any big surprise that they would choose themselves to be the chosen?

I have to say the widespread white belief in this idea disgusts me. The Jews' status as "the chosen people" comes from the Bible, a book they wrote. Duh.

That whites would sacrifice themselves and their children to this sick criminal fraud is utterly depressing.

I agree with William this particular sentiment about "God's chosen" is an unsavory and dangerous concept.

However, our moral obligation to protect all humanity within our power to do so includes supporting the lives and freedom of Jews and Arabs in the Middle East. In that respect, we should not allow a Liberal Democracy to fall prey to an Islamic totalitarian state, and the lives of those who would seek the fall of Israel and death of it's citizens through acts of terrorism shall be forfeit from this protection.

Well you interpreting the Bible as "human" scripture is your own opinion that many people won't necessarily agree with... and Jews only wrote the first half.

Of course I believe that all human kind should be protected from evil or violent things, but try and deny that the Jewish people have been put through the ringer. They are a nation surrounded by nations that hate them.

Personally, I've always rooted for the underdog.

A good generalization. Adding to these five chapters of the old testament the religion diverges into the Torah Scrolls, Talmud (oral tradition), and midrashim (moral lessons), to complicate their unique beliefs.
(not a dispute only a clarification).

I don't weep for Israel, as I don't weep for America. Both are honorable, powerfull, and just societies who stand up to despotic ideology and age-old hatreds to fight for their societies.

William would have you believe Israel is unable to protect itself, and that their state policy remains one of Arab/Muslim extermination. Given the nuclear capability they possess such a policy could be enacted with terrible resolve in mere hours, yet no such act has been carried out. The use of force by the state of Israel remains a measured, and morally righteous one.

NEVER compare this country to that rat-infested criminal desert outpost. THIS country was founded by truly noble men. THAT country was founded on lies, political trickery and manipulation. THERE IS NOTHING "honorable" about Israel.

I think not. Israel was formed when survivors of the Nazi holocaust returned to what they believed was the land promised to them by God himself. They did this because they needed a place to escape the remaining Nazis and that seemed like the best place to go. They took it through force of arms and the help of a little U.S. diplomatic pushing. Even then, the people who actually founded the nation are at least in their 70s. You can't blame everyone who lives there for being born there. And if you think the current policies of Israel are "dishonorable," just imagine how you would react if there were hundreds of crazy people who would love nothing more than to see your parents/kids/cousins/etc. blown to pieces and these people lived right next door. You'd be packing some serious heat and would never allow them near you, would you? Everybody blames Israel for "oppressing the Palestinians," when in reality, they're just doing everything they can to survive, and giving Palestinians full freedom is a bad way to go about surviving if you're an Israeli.

Dude, I know, I live in New York.
