Tis just a hypothesis on the prevalence of homosexual behavior in the human species.

Homosexuality increases the number of men protecting any one family unit, without creating additional rivalry over females.

A caveman family with two homosexual members will have three men protecting the offspring, thus greatly reducing the chances that the children will be eaten by animals, or killed by another tribe. As humans only have one child per year (versus, say, fish having hundreds), our survival strategy is to invest much time and resources into our few children.

Homosexuality, therefore, would be evolutionarily favored, as it maintains an optimum male protectorffspring ratio in the tribe.

Likewise, female homosexuality increases the bonding between mothers in a caveman society, keeping the group, and the children, united. Unlike males, females do not require sexual satisfaction to reproduce.

Watch a season of Meerkat Manor, and you will quickly learn that female infighting can lead to tribal disaster. Homosexual or bisexual human females would preserve the integrity of stone-age tribes, ensuring their collective offspring's survival.

Wrong. Since when do homosexual couples reproduce? What makes you think there were homosexual and bisexual members in relationships with females in a tribe? I don't ever recall seeing gay porn drawings on the caves of Lascaux. What evidence do you have to back up your statement other than comparing human development and tribal behavior to a bunch of merkats?
I would venture to say that homosexuals were killed off or starved after being ostracized.

I stated that there is no factual basis in his hypothesis.

The desire to reproduce isn't "insane" like you assume. It's called instinct. Homosexuals are not wired the same as heterosexuals when it comes to choosing sexual partners. Nothing wrong with that but comparing human evolution and survival to the behavior of matriarchial societies dominated by gays and bisexuals is ridiculous and entirely without merit.

It makes them selfish, not insane. Personally, I have no desire to reproduce but I'm only 28 so I may change my mind.... although I doubt it.

I too would happily adopt a child - not a baby - if I felt the need to have a kid. I have great family members who would not be family members if they hadn't been adopted into it. I wish more people would consider it as an option.

I would point out that prospecitive parents may have more than one motivation and some of the motivation might be love and altruism. Human beings are a mix of motivations and qualities.

Those of you who are repulsed by this fact will just have learn to get over it.

While you're learning to get over it, some of you might want to take the time to ask yourselves why you care so much about this subject, too.

Look deep into your disgust and ask yourselves why this issue (whcih basically has nothing to do with you) so bothers you.

It takes guts and backbone to announce you are gay to a bunch of foaming-at-the-mouth gay bashers, Oscar Wao.

Lemme tell y'all one advantage GLBT folks have over all of us straight folks: they know more about suffering than we do. They know more about being hated, being hunted, being afraid. And FORGIVING. A gay man hated on by his own family will forgive them on his deathbed...that's much more than I plan to do. Most of my GLBT friends have been assaulted; many hospitalized. Yet they STILL go to gay nightclubs, sometimes in drag. That's like being a Crip and walking the Blood streets without an escort. That is COURAGE.

I love ALL my friends, but yanno, if ever I needed someone to watch my back, someone whose loyalty and motives I'd never have to question, someone who loves my kidlet almost as much as I do....I'd go to my GLBT friends. Live with hate and learn to love? That's an acomplishment most of us cannot even dream of.
