Beef tongue in aspic anyone?

    Yum...

    I have had calf tongue, and while it is slightly yummy, the ick factor has to be dealt with during preparation (you have to boil it and peel it. And it looks and handles like a giant male member. I kid you not.) The ick factor is so strong that by the time it's time to eat it, it is quite difficult.

    It does taste good though...very tender...like beef with no gristle, or fat, or even any grain...and tastes just a little metallic.

    It makes spectacular sammiches.

    One of those dishes that's really great if you don't have to prepare it, or watch it prepared...ever...
