I think Glenn Beck has some wicked brains and a broad range of interests. He reports on some things that mainstream media overlooks and has been right from time to time. But this bombastic wandering over the reality threshold means I have to double check everything he reports before I can believe it.

Ultimately, Beck is just too much homework for me.

Beck actually encourages his viewers to do just that, sorry you're too lazy to inform yourself.

Not taking Glen Beck seriously is hardly a symptom of laziness. It's a symptom of common sense.

I'm not "tainting" anyone. If Beck is recommend Nazi sympathizers and anti-semites, then he's tainting himself.

I just posted a report on what Beck has done.

The author attended meetings, and then reported that the rhetoric at the meetings did not match the facts on the ground. I don't watch Beck, or obsess over him like you, but I would bet that he was using her book to discredit socialism, not support it.

Your post tainted him by taking what he said out of context and implying he supports Nazism. The real truth is that he is an informed person, well read, and expects his liteners to be the same. One of the reasons he is so popular is he does not treat everyone like and idiot, he teaches.

He is definitely a nut case, but he is a smart nut case.

Glenn might not be the rising ratings juggernaut month to month, like he has always been. But he's still a powerhouse in the 5 p.m. timeslot. As Joe writes, "the decline in his audience has hardly made a dent on the lead he enjoys for his 5 p.m. festival of emotions. His rivals should hold off a little on popping the Champagne."
Michael Calderone at Yahoo! News has a similar assessment: "Even with smaller ratings numbers, he's still the second-highest-rated cable news host, behind only his Fox colleague Bill O'Reilly. And Beck's year-to-year drop since April 2009 was more modest than others — 7 percent among total viewers and 6 percent in the age 25-54 demographic (the viewership advertisers most covet)."
