The Beck-Massa affair was a case of two political extremists who have gone so far in opposite directions that these strange bedfellows have wound up on the same mattress: They are both avowed foes of the Obama administration and its efforts to enact health-care reform.

Glenn Beck is NOT a political extremist. He's a Libertarian... with more in common philosophically with our framers than either Eric Massa or Barack Obama.

Beck handed Massa a megaphone, gave him a full hour to make his case... and Massa goes out with his tail tucked between his legs, unable or unwilling to accuse his alleged tormentors. His claim of being "forced out" can't be substantiated if he's not willing to say who, specifically, forced him or what method of force was applied.

All anyone can say about Beck is that he gave the guy a platform from which to mount a public defense. It's not Beck's fault if the guy failed to use it.

I think when consistently fail to get more than 10% of the vote in almost any election, year after year after year after year, that makes you an extremist party just by definition.

I'm a right leaning libertarian........and I don't recognize Beck as any kind of libertarian I'm familar with. He's a showman, nothing more.

So Glenn gives Massa enough rope to either hang himself or the other corrupt politicians. He hangs himself. Not sure it's that big a controversy.
