In fact, this has become such a trend that TV America is probably ahead of real America in this regard. These types of ads have been on the rise. I think because the advertisers know they have to over represent the black population. So how better then to have both a white and blacks in an biracial marriage? I seriously doubt they are making a statement, that would be too big of chance at being derisive.

If they wanted to make a statement closer to the actual population, then it would be a white with a Hispanic. But Hispanics don't crap their drawer or riot like other groups so they are under represented.

Outrage and support is a desired result when contriving ads. Everyone wants their ad to go viral on YouTube because more and more people are leaving the traditional boob tube and/or fast forwarding thru commercials.

The particular practice ( contriving multicultural casts in ads and shows) is known as 'behavior placement' in the industry.
