problem is one player cant win an entire football game for you.
Sherman is good for at least one turnover a game. He is the guy that is the defensive king of the red zone.
Sherman and Browner are the two best DBs in the NFL. In our three big blowouts the defense has scored an average of 17 pts per game.
The key to our recent big games is that the opponents went three and out in their first drives leaving the offense with excellent field position.
Against SF our offense got the ball 90 seconds into the game after the Hawks defered. Seattle scored a TD in 2 plays. It is very demoralizing to the other team to get the ball first and immediately have to punt knowing the other team will get the ball first in the second half.
To make it worse the Seahawks scored with a first play from scrimage with a 42 yard timing pass where Baldwin ran to a spot and just jumped as high as he could in the center of the field 42 yards downfield. He was double covered when the ball got there but he was 3 or 4 feet higher than the defenders. The ball had to be laid into a tiny window because since the Sehawk could not adjust to the ball , if it wasn't thrown perfectly it would almost certainly be an interception. The next play was the BEAST running straight up the field then slanting to the left corner and right through a couple of 9ers for a TD. Nothing fancy..just plain old downhill in your face vanilla football. Almost every NFL QB needs a pass or two coming out of the box to get his timing focused. Not Mr Wilson. The speed and efficiency of the Seahawk offense in the first QTR against the best defense in the NFL was stunning. It was like watching Bruce Lee fight a drunk. It was like watching one of Mike Tyson's first few fights..the ones when it was over with a knock out within a few seconds
Yes one guy can win a game when one guy does his job to perfection..then the next guy does his job to perfection and so on and so forth. Seattle plays every play like they expect to score..from the first play until the game is so far out of hand that they can practice fake punts. They don't "feel out" the other team like most teams do in the first QTR. Very quickly the other team is forced to play from way behind which makes them very predictable and more subject to sacks, fumbles and interceptions.
As much as one player can win a football game ..one players mistakes can lose a football game.
