Battleground states, 1May12

Under ideal conditions, Romney could hit 270-280

With the existing makeup of Red and Blue states, 300 is off the table

I don't see Obama carrying all of the states he carried in 08. He won 365 to 173

If he wins the same states as he did in 08, he will win 359 to 179.

So for Romney to win, he has to make up 91 electoral votes. 91. That isn't going to happen.

Romney won't win any of his home states. He has weak support in Red States and did strongest in primary Blue States

True; like most though, he will win states because he's the Republican nominee; not because anybody loves Mitt. Same for the Democratic nominee most years too when there is a GOP incumbent.

But here's the problem. Romney has to win ALL of them to win.

Obama can only win one or two of them and still win.

obama has not won anything yet. Have we had an election in any state? is it Nov yet?

Guy, everyone knows that this election is going to come down to about six states, and Romney has to win all six of them to win.

Obama just has to win one or two of them...

That assumes Romney's campaign doesn't collapse over the summer when people get to realize what the folks in Massachusetts already know. He's a bum.

Oh, yeah. That's right. Massachusett's isn't even in play this time. Not even considered a "leaning" state. It's a solid Obama state.

No one has won the presidency without carrying his home state since 1844....

This is a political message board. All we can do is discuss what we know now. What we know now is that Romney needs to sweep almost every swing state and now trails in almost every swing state
We also know that Obama has a huge lead in the electoral vote in spite of the unemployment rate, Obamacare and that he doesn't have a valid birth certificate. That shows that Republicans are going to have to hit another big issue in order to win

Says you. People have plenty of time to do the math and come to their senses. Romney will win because he's the better candidate.

Romney has managed to win one election in his lifetime......Obama has never lost

Obama's a shoo-in in 3 states. :D

Unless Romney picks Giuliani as his running mate.

Then, Obama's a shoo-in in 2 states. :lmao:

That's the national GOP primary. But New Yorkers (Dems, Indies and Reps) love him.

No they don't

That's all you got? Seriously?

By Sept 11 2001, Rudy had burnt out his welcome in NYC. He revitalized his image on 9-11 and probably could have won in 2004. By 2008 he was a has been and fizzled in his run for president
As of today, he is a punchline and could never win in New York

Guiliani is love by NYers; especially those in the city. He cleaned up that town. They won't forget that. There was a time when he was more loved than Derek Jeter. I doubt his popularity has receded that much. I'm sure he's still way ahead of A-Rod.
