Bart Stupak, Louise Slaughter receive Death Threats

Not quite. But nice try.

This is about Stupak, Slaughter, and others.

All of the death threats they claim to have received and the only one they come up with "as proof" is a message left by a caller who said that "millions of people wish ill on you"

In the meantime, Stupak admitted that he received similar calls from the bill supporters when he was holding strong against the bill...

Wonder why the media did not deem it important to let the people know about THOSE threats. Stupak siad he offered a press release on them, yet only the Washington Times mentioned it in passing in an artilcle....

But now ALL the media considers it news seeing as it came from people AGAINST the bill.

Seems the media is doing a great job dividing us Americans. They should be proud.

All this whining. Doesn't Obamacare cover hurt feelings?

Poor little Stupak....someone wished ill on him. Poor little baby.

For a very, very long time most Americans have been too apathetic. Finally many are waking up to the damage of letting Washington run amuck. I consider that a good thing. Unfortunately, a few are using this as an excuse for using that they learned from video games and TV.

It is a new day DC. You pushed too hard. We decided to push back.

This is the coalition the rightwingnuts have built. They bring these nuts in with extreme rhetoric, scream about death squads, Nazis and Socialism and then wonder why their people act like they do

Rush, Beck , oreilly, bush, Cheney, palin, all receive death threats too. Everyday.

Democrats are no better.

Sadly, I've been seing the Tea Party move towards violence for awhile now.

It started Sunday with the Racial and Homophobic slurs then went to bashing out the windows of 5 different Congress people..Now, death threats?

It's only so long before violence actually occurs.

Such a sad time in America when those who lose can't take their "anger" out at the ballot box.

Sadly, your partisanship allows you to blame the tea partyers when, in fact, there is absolutely no proven connection whatsoever...other than people like you connecting such dots that has no merit whatsoever.

The backlash: Reform turns personal - Jake Sherman and Marin Cogan - POLITICO.com

Reps. Louise Slaughter and Bart Stupak have received death threats.

A tea party participant published what he thought was Rep. Thomas Perriello’s home address and urged disgruntled voters to “drop by” for a “good face-to-face chat.”

Vandals broke windows at Slaughter’s office in New York and Rep. Gabrielle Giffords’s office in Arizona.

And angry voters are planning to protest this weekend at the home of Steve Driehaus — who’s already seen a photograph of his children used in a newspaper ad published by reform opponents.

The vitriolic health care debate has become personal — too personal, say House Democrats who voted for the bill and now find not just themselves but their families in the cross hairs of opponents.

Slaughter, a Democrat who chairs the House Rules Committee, said a caller to her office last week vowed to send snipers to “kill the children of the members who voted yes.” Her office reported the call to police, who were dispatched to provide protection for Slaughter’s grandchildren. She has also been in touch with the FBI and U.S. Postal Service inspectors, who intercepted a letter en route to her home in upstate New York.

Stupak, the Michigan Democrat whose last-minute compromise on abortion guaranteed passage of the bill Sunday, said callers have left messages for him saying, “You’re dead; we know where you live; we’ll get you.”

But Democrats said their political opponents go too far when they bring members’ families into the fray.

Driehaus, a Democrat from Ohio, was outraged last week when a group called the Committee to Rethink Reform used a photo of him and his two young daughters in a newspaper ad urging him to vote against any health care reform bill that included federal funding for abortion. Both the group and the newspaper — the Cincinnati Enquirer — apologized for including Driehaus’s daughters in the ad.

And Rep. Dennis Cardoza, a Blue Dog Democrat from California, said he’s gotten physical threats over health care reform.

“There are some folks that identified themselves as being members of the tea party [who] called, [and] my staff has gotten to know their names over time, and they have been very loud and very ugly,” Cardoza said.

ANyone who calls Stupak a sell out is a hypocrite.....and yes, I am a conservaitve.

I wish my senators and congressman were like Stupak.

He stood for his convictions...and he stood for his platform that he was elected on...and he was not all about the party.

He then got what he needed to not compromise his convictions and vote yes for that piece of crap bill turned law.

Sure, I wish he were a hypocrite and didnt.....but he did and we should ALL applaud him.

He was willing to let his party die for his convictions.

GOOD FOR HIM....

Did anyone cut their BBQ grill?

I know you find this hilarious Frank, but I doubt you'd like it if it happened to your family.

Well, coming from the bunch that defended books on how to assassinate Bush...

Anyway, where's all that unity we were promised?

WTF do you expect is going to happen when you have an admin that tells the American people "FUCK YOU" when they clearly tell the admin "WE DON'T WANT THIS"?

You have to figure people are going to get pissed.

Truth is....why is no one asking this question....

Exactly what was the reason Pelosi walked through the mall where the protesters were with a large oversized gavel?

Was she saying to them "I understand you do not agree with this legislation, but I assure you it will prove to be benficial?"

Or was she saying...

"Let them eat cake"

Did she truly think it was the right thing to do? Knowing the anger people felt that were there.....did she NOT think that such a victory march RIGHT IN FRONT OF THEM would anger them even more?

Clearly the modern Democrat party is now a socialist/communist movement... the American people are clearly NOT happy.

Like it or not, we were founded as a capitalist democratic republic, not a socialist state. Sorry, but that is a fact.

Sorry. My post was unclear. I meant the whining from the politicians.

It is a clash between those that believe in the greatness that is this country and those that want to dismantle that and turn it into Venezuela with 2 classes.. a ruling class and peasants.

Cool. We see it the same.

Like Brittany Spears....whines about the press all over her.

Ironically...I have no doubt that when she was youger she DREAMED of the day the press would hound her.

You run for office....expect your personal life to be turned upside down.

It is not like this type of harrassment is anything new. It has been going on since the 1700's.

No, he wasn't. What matters is what he DID, not what he SAID.

Bart Stupak is a hypocrite and political scumbag. He said he stood for the rights of the unborn, and he did. He did, until he had to choose between his principles or party. He chose his "party". He caved under pressure and sold out his "principles" for a new airport and a worthless piece of paper. That is what he DID

Wake up man, this guy represents exactly what is WRONG with Washington. He says "one thing" and then does "another". In the end he sold out for his "PARTY". He's the worst kind of hypocrite.

Really?

What is this: Democratic offices vandalized | KansasCity.com Prime Buzz ?

Over the weekend, a brick shattered glass doors at the Monroe County Democratic Committee headquarters in Rochester, N.Y.

Attached to the brick was a note that said, “Extremism in defense of liberty is no vice” — a quote from Barry Goldwater’s 1964 acceptance speech as the Republican presidential candidate.

..and this..

Mike Vanderboegh of Pinson, Ala., former leader of the Alabama Constitutional Militia, put out a call on Friday for modern “Sons of Liberty” to break the windows of Democratic Party offices nationwide in opposition to health care reform. Since then, vandals have struck several offices, including the Sedgwick County Democratic Party headquarters in Wichita. [....]

And on Friday, a brick broke a window at Rep. Louise Slaughter’s district office in Niagara Falls, N.Y. Slaughter, a Democrat, was a vocal supporter of the health care reform bill passed by the House on Sunday.

TV6 Web Poll - Bart Stupak threats : News : WLUC TV6

One man's voice message says he hopes the congressman bleeds, gets cancer and dies. A woman tells Stupak "millions of people" wish him ill.

And what about those actually in the crowd of tea partiers that spat, called names and slurs?..All isolated incidents and no relation to the Tea Party?

Vandalism reported by Democrats who voted for health bill - latimes.com

On Tuesday, the brother of Rep. Tom Perriello (D-Va.) discovered that the gas line connecting a propane tank to an outdoor grill at his home near Charlottesville, Va., had been severed.

Days earlier, members of conservative "tea party" groups in the area had posted his address online, urging people to "drop by" what they mistakenly believed was the congressman's home.

The brother, Bo Perriello, has four children at home under the age of 8, according to the congressman's office.

Now why in the world would we suspect tea partiers for these acts?! :cuckoo:
