Barhoum: West Bank's protests are natural reaction to corruption and PA failure

GAZA,(PIC)-- Fawzi Barhoum, spokesman for the Islamic Resistance Movement "Hamas", said that the mass protests in West Bank are natural reaction to the PA corruption and a result of the PA's economic and political failure.

The protests came as a reaction to PA suppression practiced against people of the West Bank and its failing to protect the Palestinian citizens and their lands and properties from settlers’ attacks, he added.

We follow as all Palestinian people what is happening in the West Bank of increasing protests and demonstrations in light of PA neglect and Abu Mazen specifically to these fair demands, Barhoum said in a statement published on his Facebook on Monday.

Hamas spokesman called on PA and Abu Mazen specifically to respond to the protesters' demands and to end their suffering.

RAMALLAH, (PIC)-- Transport union decided to strike on Monday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and all day Wednesday in case the PA did not meet their demands, Ibrahim Awadallah, the union spokesman, announced.

“The strike is not a goal, but a means to achieve the demands of the public transport sector, which has deteriorated due to high fuel prices, and we started struggling to survive”, Awadallah said in a press statement issued on Monday.

"We wished that our demands were met after meeting with the PA transport ministry" he added.
