Barcelone ditching Windows and adopting Linux.

Idiocy. Probably like in Munich, they got it hammered down their throats. An extra distro was created. Half of the municipal workstations couldn´t do their job on "Limux" and needed Windows too. They are going back to Windows and MS deploys it Germany HQ to there.
It was because the decision was made politically under the pressure of that cloud nine parties. They didn´t care if the systems were productive applicable. The majority of the employees rejected the system from the beginning.

In my long experience of placing Linux desktops in businesses...rejection overwhelmingly resulted from frustration of people because it is different. People hate change.

The problem is that the only requirement was a non-microsoft system. Everything else didn´t matter, not even if it works. And they still do have that ancient computers that must now be replaced.

So then you had a bunch of idiots running around and the fault is not Linux at all.
Got it.

Sure it is. Its incompatible with accepted standards and poorly developed. A noob system around the kernel. Hobby-distros.
