Barack Obama: “The LAST THING We Want to Do Is Raise Taxes During a Recession” (2009

Actually - Obama should get about 7,000,000 jobs

Actually, obama "got" more jobs than bush "got" in his whole 8 year presidency. When obama signed the stimulus we were losing 600,000 jobs every month. Now we gain around 50,000-100,000 each month

Are you vying for Truthmatters job as Village Idiot here?

No actually. Im not sure how you can dispute monthly job reports. Those are numbers, numbers arent up for debate.

Lol sorry actually it was about 750,000 lost in march 09. The month bush left we lost 800,000 jobs.

Ill take obamas miniscule job gains over bush's massive exodus from the workforce any day.

Yeah - you can't debate a 9 point something % unemployment rate.

How many months was unemployement 8.5% under Bush.

Answer - never.

You're not too bright are you.

get a job

Thank god for those 30,000 McDonald's jobs out of 54,000 job in May and the record setting jobs of 18,000 in June.

We need around 125,000 new jobs a month just to break even. Your accolades of creating 50,000-100,000 job isn't much of an accolade. You are actually cheering on more unemployment.

Why don't you pull your nose out of Obama's ass for a few minutes and smell some reality.

The unemployment rate hit 9%, what it is now, 4 months into obamas presidency. None of his economic policies even had enough time to go into effect. When obama took office we were losing 800,000 jobs a month. Of course that isnt going to be reversed right away so unemployment is going to continue to go up, but that isnt his fault in any way it would have happened regardless of who became president. What is certain is that month jobs reports turned around right when obama signed the stimulus.

Idk how you can look at that graph and think obama made anything worse. The recession is in no way his fault. Its his fault, i guess, that unemployment hasnt gone down. But he has nothing to do with the fact that unemployment hit 9% in the first place.

If you cant understand that your extremely stupid.

Oh yes, I see what you are saying reflected in the 9.2% unemployment rates :cuckoo:

Why is it the right refuses the FACT that we are no longer in a recession?

Words have definitions and by the definition of the word we are NO LONGER IN A RECESSION!

ah, so by that reason that is good enough to raise TAXES on the American people who can barely pay for gas, food, AND DON'T HAVE JOBS.

but remember folks, it's the Democrat party who CARES MORE FOR YOU.

Umm, do you have any clue as to the details of what tax increases are being proposed? Your statement would suggest that you don't.

Im not cheering on anything. Im saying the private sector is doing much better than it was just 2 years ago. And that 18,000 jobs report, guess what you probably dont know about it. The number of jobs the private sector added was almost 60,000. The 18,000 comes in because republican austerity measures have cut back the public sector so much.

I do understand you're extremely stupid, yes. That was clear many posts ago. But keep blathering your drivel. It's quite entertaining.

You're contradicting yourself. You say his policies did not have time yet to work, then go on to say one of his policies (the stimulus) started to work as soon as he signed it.

Which of your statements is incorrect?

Its funny that half of your posts are insults. Its just reveals that half of what you say is insults and the other half is defensive and none of it is an actual response to anything i say.

The unemployment rate isnt an instantaneous measure of how the economy is going at any given point.
OK. It's just hung around the 9.2% level for months becasue the economy in improving. I get it :eusa_whistle:

The perception of intervention is enough to tempt investors if the intervention is large enough. The announcement of the stimulus sent markets higher immediately, even if the stimulus money itself did not cause any impact yet. The same thing happened with TARP. Any actual economic policies that impact the operation of companies, like regulation, hadnt taken effect yet. So there couldnt have been any job killing regulation you like to talk about at that point.

Both statements are correct.

No its hung around the 9.2% unemployment rate for months because bushes housing bubble is still deflating. I seriously dont think you understand how this works. Obama cant just decrease the unemployment rate. First the administration had to spend months to reverse the massive exodus of workers from the job force just to make the unemployment rate stop skyrocketing. he did that extremely well. now that republicans have been elected the government hasnt focused at all on jobs, not one job bill in this congress.

What exactly do you think obama has done to hurt the economy anyways? You just point to some abstract notion and say its the governments fault. Im sure its not housing and gas prices or anything.
