Barack Obama is the foreign policy realist is this race. He is the hawk who wants to take the fight to our enemies and make sure we have the resources to keep our country safe. As opposed to McCain whose policy in Iraq is beneficial only to military contractors and whose policy towards the rest of the world is extremely dangerous.

Really? How is Barack going to do that? I'll be surprised if you know, since Barack doesn't.

Well we're going to withdrawl from Iraq now, no wait in 3 months, or no in 16 months we should have all combat troops out of Iraq.:cuckoo:

Barack's plan is clear. Withdraw the vast majority of troops in 16 months based on conditions on the ground. Leave a residual force of about 8,000 troops. Send a aid package to the Iraqi's in order to rebuild their gov't. Send 2-3 new brigades to Afghanistan. Start managing the real war on terror correctly.

Start to be aggressive diplomatically and economically with those countries we have problems with namely Iran, Russia, and North Korea.

So, pull the troops from Iraq just to send them to Afghanistan. Gotta love that idea.

Afganistan is where they are needed, not Iraq. Would you rather we start a nuclear war with Iran like Mr. McCain advocates? According to him, negotiating with our enemies is more reckless than starting a war with them.

4,000 dead, 30,000 wounded, and $700 billion dollars wasted to set up a Shia government in Iraq allied with Iran.

How did the Republicans plan work out?

a Shia government in Iraq allied with Iran.

Your repeated use of this Line demonstrates a profound Ignorance about the History between Iraq and Iran, as well as the cultural and Language differences. Just because they have signed a low level, mainly economic, agreement, and a counter terrorism agreement, does not mean they are aligned together on all things.

You also are ignoring that Iraqs goverment is only Majority Shia it is not Totally Shia.

Iraq and Iran have many more reasons to not get along than they do to be buddy buddy.

But I understand it makes for a better Bumper sticker slogan if you keep Ignoring the Facts and just stick to your BS.

That's about as clear as mud as is

It means nothing. Political jibberish.

Withdrawing in 16 months based on conditions on the ground means that the number of troops withdrawn each month is subject to change. If everything stays the same way it is now we can expect one to two withdrawn each month. If things improve immensely it could be more and if things worsen it could be less.

Mismanaging the war is indeed something the administration did. It's strategy in Afghanistan has been extremely flawed. We let bin-laden go at least once. Even McCain himself admits the administration have been mismanaging the war. This includes troop benefits and enlistment incentives as well.

Everyone agrees that the invasion of Iraq was a mistake, but it was a mistake this entire country made. Not a mistake Bush made. Not a mistake Cheney made. Not a mistake McCain made. Not a mistake Clinton made. Not a mistake I made. A mistake we made as a collective democracy. In a post 9/11 world, this country cried out for action against possible terrorists, including Iraq. It was the RIGHT choice based on the information we had at the time. In hindsight, the information was bad. But if Barack Obama were President, and someone brought him information that Iraq had nuclear capabilities and were planning on using it against the United States and he didn't act, I'd call for his immediate impeachment for failing to protect our country. Obama preaches his opposition to the war like it was a good thing. To me it just shows his inability to lead this country and protect it from terrorism.
