CDZ Barack Obama...Greatest President of Modern times

So many choices, let's see I'll take Nixon over Obama any day. One of the best Presidents at foreign policy evidenced by his successful diplomacy with China and Russia. He ended the Vietnam War and by golly it actually did end. Watergate was the classic molehill built into a mountain by a ravenous Liberal media that absolutely HATED Nixon. Obama's foreign policy has the Middle East on fire, caused one of the great war induced human migrations in modern history, emboldened Russia and China into aggression. Economically he is equally clueless thinking that putting someone back to work at half of what he was making is a success story. Work force participation at all time lows. The country is divided Racially and economically in large part to Obama's never ending intrusions into every freaking Racial conflict and bashing the "rich". He had nothing to do with killing Bin Laden that was the result of years of intelligence that began under Bush.
Have to punt on Nixon

He had the skills to be President but had his personal demons. He just couldn't let things go. He had a compulsion to get at his perceived enemies.

Vietnam was a mess and I don't blame him for not being able to get out easily. Watergate was something that should have been over in a week but Nixon used his power to turn it into a crime

What ????

Is this your "argument" ?

Against what ??? Nixon.

You really need to learn what debate means.
The argument was that Nixon was a better President than Obama

Obviously not

Barack H. Obama is the Greatest President of Modern Times

What we can do is judge them by their accomplishments, by how they faced the challenges of their time. Coming off arguably one of the most disastrous presidencies in our history, that of George W. Bush, who cut taxes yet involved us in two un-paid for wars, and crashed our economy and that of the rest of the world as a result, we found ourselves with our nation’ first black president.
Not only did Barack H. Obama face the deeply entrenched racism of the nation that elected him, but a Republican Party determined to obstruct his every move, to make him a one term president and that term an utter failure. All the while, he had to face his real work, that for which he was elected: digging our nation out of the hole into which his predecessor had dragged us.
And it was a deep hole. Hated by the world, our economy in shambles, two wars continuing and with no real end in sight, let alone any idea of what, exactly, would constitute victory, Barack Obama stepped up to the plate, and like Babe Ruth calling his shot, made his play. Like Ruth, he hit it out of the park. This is not hyperbole. The facts prove it.
And he did it while fighting the most anti American and dirtiest party in modern times.

The fact that Obama accomplished what he did with a hostile Republican Party trying to derail every initiative will be acknowledged as part of his greatness

History will not be kind to this brand of Republicans

Wow.

Great cogent argument.

Knocked it out of the part.

ROTFLMAO

Debate: What the left does in the morning while looking in the mirror.

Obama the great does such a good job that he does the impossible. He gives the house back to a disorganized and moronic GOP in just two years of presidency.

Oh, wait...so did Bill Clinton.

But Bill figured out that this represented the will of the people (in the form of the house), threw the far left wing of his party under the bus, and ruled with some saneness.

Obama has been nothing but an obstructionist.

But, he'll go down....[laughing]....as the greatest....[laughing harder] president in recent history....

Not that you could ever quantify what that means.

After all this is the CDZ where you are supposed to make arguments.

Not fart out far left talking points.

Nice rambling retort, but it does nothing to refute the actions of the Republcans in trying to derail the economic recovery in order to make Obama a one term President

How else would you explain Republicans who voted for Bush's request for TARP financial bailouts of the auto and financial sectors yet UNANIMOUSLY voted against the same requsts from Obama?

What's to explain ?

Obama hits the ground in the middle of an economy struggling to recover and throws out universal health care.

Kinda like Slick Willy's first shot out of the cannon (gays in the military).

You've done nothing to explain how his greatness managed to get the GOP back in power in two years when people said it would be ten.

If anything, the GOP should be calling him great. A great big dork.

You'll notice that their willingness to stand up against Obama at a time when he had no freaking clue as to what he was doing got them back in the majority real fast.

Did it ever occur to you that people didn't want what Obama had done the same way they were fed up with Bush.

It wasn't all the same GOP that supported Bush either.....I was plenty happy to see many of them go.

I see nothing in the way of an explanation in your response

Republicans deny that they tried to stop the economic recovery under Obama
If so, why did they vote in favor of TARP, stimulus, auto bailouts and financial sector bailouts under Bush but UNANIMOUSLY vote against them when requested by Obama?

It is obvious you are ducking the question, so I will answer for you

Republicans voted for that economic stimulus under Bush because they were facing an election in 2008 and didn't want to run during an economic collapes

However, once Obama became president, they wanted to see the auto companies and banks collapse so they could blame it on Obama

If that is not the reason for their hypocritical votes, then you are welcome to provide a better one

This isn't me about defending republicans, because I don't. I am not GOP.

I don't owe you and explanation.

You are the one making the claim Obama was the greatest.

A lot of the country does not agree with you.

As pointed out, Bill Clinton took a very disappointing first two years and turned it around.

He did great things and was handily re-elected (i.e. people felt he had the country going on the right track).

Obama took the opportunity to lead and threw it away and has been pretty much adversarial ever since.

He's wiped his ass with the constitution (making statements that he'll get things done without congress if necessary) repeatedly and blown his foriegn policy marketing effort time and time again.

It does not help his case that there are hacks out there like you who worship at his feed and make ridiculous claims like your OP when his job approval rating has sucked for a long long time.

Reagan and Clinton cake walked to re-election despite having the opposition at least partially in power.

Obama has ceded his ability to govern on a steady basis.

We'll go back to you B.S. claims about another great depression. You can hide under the skirts of people like Paul Krugman all you want. The GOP created the mess for the most part but there is a good case for it self correcting.....

And spare me the academics who say "the world was coming to an end"....they are academics for a reason and they certainly didn't see it coming (and they should have seen it coming).

So have at it loser.

I open this discussion with if you think President Obama is not the greatest president of modern times you have to name the president and what he accomplished that is better than Obama

Greatest, but most powerless, Boooooosh still controls almost everything

Better than Obama ?

This is why I have to start to agree that you are pure troll.

You've offered nothing up that creates a scorecard.

You simply blather about how "good Obama was".

That only works if you have some agreement on metrics or his accomplishments.

Obviously, many don't see his degradation of the U.S. as being worthwhile.

And you offer no metrics. Even your OP cherry picks what you think is good (which really isn't that good when you know what it ).

You ignore other factors that challenge your point of view.

Things like how Reagan and Clinton took bad situations and were re-elected with flying colors.......without trying.

Obama had to engage in a year long smear campaign to barely beat a weak opponent.
