Apparently the Balt. mayor blamed the Police Commissioner for the spike in murders last year. Once again the liberal politicians blame the Police for anarchy in the streets.

Where Democrat governance exists black lives simply do not matter...I wonder when Blacks will catch on that they're being used and oppressed by the Democratic Party and their hypocritical uncaring voters.

..................... Yup, lottsa blood on Democrats supporters hands.

The shift comes as Pugh has faced her own mounting criticism for the city’s homicide rate. Last year concluded with 343 killings, a per-capita record, after 318 killings in 2016 and 342 killings in 2015. Prior to that, there hadn’t been 300 homicides in Baltimore in a single year since 1999.

Holy cow, you guys actually fire officers? There is a guy charged and convicted of attempted murder in Toronto (even though he successfully killed the guy), and he is still on the force, paid with benefits, awaiting his appeal...for four years!

Then we have an RCMP who had a culture of sexual harassment and abuse in the force, sued by hundreds of female officers, taxpayer paid $100M+, and NOONE lost their job, pension or authority.

CSIS has spied on lawyers speaking with their clients, planted creep porn on Imams laptops, defied politician AND judges orders. Nary a slap on the wrist.

Whether you agree with the decision or not, at least people lose their jobs and there is that danger, and motivation to do a good job above and beyond their oath and passion. Tough to blame a murder rate on a police force, unless some were wary of doing their job after the major charges that were laid a few years ago.

To be honest it's neither here nor there. The system is set up where the mayor will play politics with the police force.

Personally I'd prefer the police to be changed so that they're less at the whim of politicians. But as the system is in place, then the mayor can do what he likes.

Baltimore did not want the police to enforce the law. Now that the police are allowing the criminals room to destroy, Baltimore doesn't like that either.

Imagine that actually holding people responsible for the job they are doing. We must be crazy to look at the very people who are responsible for policing the area. I mean it is only thier job to prevent crime. They are not getting it done so they get fired, what a crazy world we live in.

You have to be willing to lock them up. You need to stop playing this hug a thug shit.

Fire the mayor

The cops make an arrest and then take them to jail...........they are done. You better start looking elsewhere or you get nowhere.

I am not playing a thug thing. The cops are responsible for up holding the law. Who do you want to hold responsible for the success of the police department, the dog catcher? I think the police chief is more appropriate don't you? This guy was not getting the job done, so good by! As far as locking them up, we do that at a rate that far exceeds any where on the planet.

Not anymore and haven't for the past 8 years or so. The cops arrest them and the case is closed. It's done on their end.

So, now you have the prosecutors, judges, and the DOC to look at. And then there are the juveniles.

Davis cited the violent carjacking of a 35-year-old man by a group of juveniles near a synagogue in Northwest Baltimore on Thursday morning, and a series of recent attacks downtown and on Halloween night in the city.

He said police see the same youths committing crimes time and time again. He said he knows of one 16-year-old boy who has been arrested ten times since 2014 — for larceny, attempted robbery, burglary, carjacking, assault, two theft charges and three car theft charges — but keeps being released. He said many juveniles have similar records.

“We know who they are,” Davis said. “And if we know who they are — and the reason why we know who they are is because we lock them up again and again and again — then I’m pretty damned certain that their parents and guardians and grandparents and neighbors know who the hell they are as well.

“Step up. Step forward. Get ahold of these violent kids. It’s absolutely unacceptable that I have to stand up here and talk about 13- and 14-year-olds that we have to arrest again and again because our criminal justice system and our society isn’t doing what we need to be doing with these kids.”

Baltimore Mayor Pugh says crime 'out of control,' orders agencies to meet with police every morning

I would lay money they have a Risk Assessment that is used after they are arrested and taken to kiddy jail and they are not there very long. Further, there are multiple diversionary programs.

Then crap like this: Convicted Baltimore murderer, released from life sentence, is arrested with guns, fentanyl, police say

Repeat offenders:

2017 homicide data provide insight into Baltimore's gun wars, police say

Of course the Gun Trace Task Force indictments did not help but that is not the be all and end all.

It seems unfair to always blame the police. Everyone knows that too often, when cops go into one one of these violent black communities and attempt to arrest one of the thugs, a crowd will gather and begin threatening the police or first responders.

These whining people can't have it both ways. They can support the police and show a bit of respect for our laws. Or they, the residents, can continue to support their black thugs, thereby maintaining the status quo.

The real problems can only be solved by black people. There is a violent, widespread, thug culture that has grown in these areas. Only blacks can change that. And they want NO advice or input from white people. So, fine. Then shut the fuck up, quit whining, and fix your problems already.

And stop blaming everyone and everything else for your every failure in life.

I don't think fair is any part of it. It's one thing to nail the police for things within their control. It's a whole 'nother ballgame to try to hold them accountable for things that they have no control over. The state makes the law AND a group of people determine sentencing (MSCCSP). The police enforce the law and make an arrest and they are out. It goes to the courts.

Public safety is, by and large, determined on cash flow.
