Baker's giant thermometer, long on the blink, is taking heat

The new owner doesn't want to pay to keep it on and townsfolk are divided over what do to with the landmark some now consider an eyesore.

I read this and truly felt sad. How many millions have taken that drive along I-15 and pulled off in Baker for a brief pit stop including coffee? I will never forget how it lit up everything at night. Wonder if some generous soul will come along and restore it? It sure won't be the same if it isn't there any more.
