AVG Free

Just downloaded/installed latest version of AVG free. Never had problems with it.
I would prefer Avast as I had it on my old laptop and it seems less obnoxious.
I have the free version of AVG on my XP desktop and on my Windows-7 laptop. In both examples it was very easy to install and it seems to work flawlessly. I've never had any sort of problem with it and it is surprisingly friendly.

The reason I posted this question is I'm amazed that something this good can be free. I'd be happy to pay them for the upgrade but someone told me the software gets complicated with the upgrade.

Does anyone here know if that is true?

I have AVG on the PC and Avast on this here lappy, they both work well and are free.

I switched from AVG to Avast because AVGs code was beginning to get as big and intrusive as any Symantec product. Now I have KlamAV though I don't really need it as much, Linux OS is relatively safe as long as you set up a few security protocols.

I install avg free on all my PCs, as far as not believing it's so good b/c it's free.

Well

Linux
Open Office
AVG
Gimp
Mozilla Firefox
Mozilla Thunderbird

Just to name a few top notch free programs.
