Auto sales up 10.3% in 2011

Chris. That has zero to do with anything other than stock performance.
It has nothing to do with the US "economy" and unemployment.
GM Sales in China up 20.4 Percent for November Record

Absolutely true. I am well associated with many dealers in my town. The situation is the same everywhere. There are two people buying cars now, the really rich people that dont want to pay for anything, and people that have no choice but to buy.

In the states new car sales is pretty much matching what is called the scrap rate. Meaning new cars are coming into the market only as fast as they are leaving.
True. My friend in NY who is in the auto auction business tells me that while those who are buying at auctions are paying more for cars and trucks, the condition of these vehicles has not improved.
Still a lot of vehicles that are older, have mechanical faults or the big one, AMU's( Actual Mileage Unknown).
Cash for clunkers really screwed up the used car market. So much so that buyers who tilted to used rather than new because they have poor credit or are upside down in their current auto loans are being shoved into the new car market. This keeps these people in a state of perpetual under water in auto loans. So the good news is more new cars are being purchased. The bad news is a lot of people are going to be stuck with these cars because when they age out, the market being what it is , few buyers are going to be looking for used when they can get favorable deals on new cars. The used vehicles traded in go to auction.

A growing number of auto sales is a GOOD thing.
You people want to heap praise all over Obama for the rise in sales.
His policies have ZERO to do with it.

Come on. He's the POTUS. Everything - good or bad - that happens on his watch is attributed to his policies by both sides. You know very well that if auto sales were down, the right would be laying it at his feet.

When Bush was standing in Congress, screaming "CHARGE IT!" at the top of his lungs, the rw's all said that the potus's powers are very limited.

Now that President Obama is working FOR the working class, they say the POTUS is omnipotent and can do anything.

If a pub gets in (gawd help us), they'll be blaming President Obama for everything that Bush did.

SSDD.
Do you have that video? You know the one of Bush screaming at the top of his lungs "Charge it"....?
Obama is working for the middle class as much as you are.
Look, the difference between you and me is you have this. You look to government to do things for you. Yoe depend on government.
I want government to stay the hell out of my life.
Government should be providing for national defense, establishing and maintaining a currency and economic system, a bit of money to help states maintain infrastructure, regulate the financial markets so we never have robber barons again and that's about it.
Most everything else the federal government does is sticking their nose where it doesn't belong.
Here's a list of federal departments that should disappear...
The Dept of Education...Dept of Labor.....Dept of Housing and Urban Development. The EPA. The DEA.

Yep he is 100% accurate. I closed my lot because frankly I got tired of paying private party value for cars that needed major repairs, only to fix them and watch them rot on my lot. When I closed up I was averaging 300$ gross profit per car and literally bending over backwards for people to move them. When the government demands that you have 2400$ in overhead a month to operate within the law, well its just not worth it anymore.

Rent seeking larger corporations have suffocated all smaller business. And government just keeps expanding rules, regulation, and costs. They do nothing but drive up costs for everyone and drive small people out of business.

Look around your city, it is the same everywhere. You have payday loans all over, thrift stores all over. The only business surviving is huge national chains. This is an environment created and maintained by the government.

Enough is enough. This will only get worse and worse unless we embrace free market principals and move away from debt based money. This is not speculation. This is fact. Modern history is brief, but in that time we have seen plenty of examples of why socialism simply does not work. The evidence is right infront of all of us.

Corporate liberalism is destroying this country.
