Auto Sales suck but not as much as last year. 
It is a shame that Sales are so horrible. Remember when sales fall fifty percent they have to climb 100 percent to return to normal.
Right now we are seeing news releases that sales are up 4 percent. That is equivalent to a two percent decrease in 2007. We are way down and can not get up.
Sales are essentially bouncing along on the bottom with only slight bumps up and down over the past two years.
That is the reason why the news releases compare sales to the same month from a year ago. That translates into, "Things suck, but they do not suck as much as they did last year at this time." As the words to the song went, "People hear what they want to hear and disregard the rest."
