Our friends down under in Oz have the Australian Broadcast Corporation and all of their hysteria to deal with. It's refreshing to see some realism for a change.

Blah, blah, blather. And 2010 is tying 1998 and 2005 for the warmest year.

However, address your blather.

One of the primary predictions of global warming is wider and wilder swings in weather with an overall warming trend. And that is exactly what we are seeing.

Whatever happened to those hurricanes you were warning us about?

Whatever happened to the increased diseases?

Whatever happened to the widespread drought and famine?

Whatever happened to whatever you want to name. GW is blamed for pretty much every malady known to man now.

Funny how the planet seems to ignore your collective wisdom. Or is it lack thereof?

And where exactly is that warming trend? Seems there has been no measurable rise in temps for over 80 years now. Go back and look at the trend lines and their pretty flat. Same for the supposed loss of ice. The ice anomoly is higher now than in 1980. Care to 'splain that Luceee

Russia's wheat crop loss could spell gain for U.S. - TwinCities.com

MOSCOW — A severe drought has destroyed one-fifth of the wheat crop in Russia, one of the world's largest exporters, and now wildfires are sweeping in to finish off some of the crops that remained.

Expectations that Russia will slash exports by at least 30 percent have sent wheat prices soaring, and this is good news for farmers in the world's largest wheat exporter — the United States.

Wheat is the No. 3 crop in Minnesota behind corn and soybeans.

The higher wheat prices might mean that Americans and Europeans will pay slightly more for bread, but the bigger burden will fall on people in the Middle East, Africa and parts of Asia, analysts said

Cotton Extends Gain as Heat, Dry Spell May Hurt Crop; Orange Juice Rises
By Jennifer A. Johnson - Jul 29, 2010 12:52 PM PT Email Share
Business Exchange Twitter Delicious Digg Facebook LinkedIn Newsvine Propeller Yahoo! Buzz Print Cotton rose to the highest price this month on concern that hot, dry weather will damage U.S. crops in the Mississippi River Delta and Southeast. Orange-juice futures also rallied.

Temperatures across the Delta, the biggest U.S. growing region after Texas, were as much as 4 degrees Fahrenheit above normal in the past two weeks, said Kyle Tapley, a meteorologist at MDA EarthSat Weather Inc. in Rockville, Maryland. Rainfall was less than the average from Jackson, Mississippi, to Memphis, Tennessee, he said. The U.S. is the world’s top exporter.

“The cotton crop in the southeastern U.S. is melting,” said Keith Brown, the president of Keith Brown & Co., a brokerage in Moultrie, Georgia. “A few weeks ago, the crop was excellent, but God Almighty has turned off the faucets.”

Those are sad for those involved but it ain't exactly global is it? For every hot place you post I can post a cold one so continually posting them is pointless and frankly a waste of time. It is all anecdotal and means absolutely nothing on the global scale.

But I guess if that's all you have....
