Austerity's Big Winners Prove To Be Wall Street And The Wealthy

I call a spade a spade, the poor and middle class will not benefit from austerity.
Paying a King's Ransom for gasoline is pushing the poor and middle lower, not at an even keel. Therefore, redistribution is FAIL.ing to deliver, that is. It also doesn't help when the family gallon of grape juice is resized to be 60 oz by cutting deep handles into the plastic it comes in that only looks like the old 128 oz container. I remember politicians asking us just a few months ago to please be patient with the "new sizing" they were recommending to food producers being a "little smaller."

Hah! People just have to buy two bottles. And the manufacturers apparently had more costs rebottling everything at higher prices for marketing because instead of remaining the same price as planned, the lesser bottle is a dollar more than the old gallon was.

Feh on that bright idea to hold inflation by putting a lipstick girdle on that pig. :lmao:

Oh, wait. That's not funny when a family has a lot of mouths to feed and pop has doubled his hours because his last job ran out and there was no tomorrow at the living wage, and ma is talking about taking part time work in, too.

And where's the press? :lalala:

Can you say "Obama the rip-off artist?"

Yeah, Fannie and Freddie were a disaster.
Fannie and Freddie (nor the CRA - another rightie lie) did not cause the housing collapse in 2006. The private sector did. 86% of the sub-prime loans responsible for the crash were written in the private sector and were not in any way insured by F&F. Keep spinning your fantasy, though.

Ezra Klein - No, Fannie and Freddie did not cause the housing crisis

They did not cause the disaster, but they sure privatized the profit and socialized the losses.

Dat too funneh for kitteh

Concerning the countries of Europe, they are only doing austerity because they have no other choice left. As Margareth Thatcher pointed out, socialism finishes when you run out of other people's money.

Thatcher was a POS who didn't care for the poor.

Then, why precisely has she set up a charitable trust? She's done and contributed a lot for children with cancer.

Hack.
Flaylo has been detained and is incommunicado at present.

The poor and middle classes have shouldered by far the heaviest burdens of the global political obsession with austerity policies over the past three years. In the United States, budget cuts have forced states to reduce education, public transportation, affordable housing and other social services. In Europe, welfare cuts have driven some severely disabled individuals to fear for their lives.

But the austerity game also has winners. Cutting or eliminating government programs that benefit the less advantaged has long been an ideological goal of conservatives. Doing so also generates a tidy windfall for the corporate class, as government services are privatized and savings from austerity pay for tax cuts for the wealthiest citizens.

But not for the middle and lower classes.

Get a job, freeloader.

Nobody owes you a living.

A Huff Poo post? Really? Why do you waste board space with this drivel, Flaylo?

Everyone benefits from a strong economy caused by spending and tax cuts.

Tax cuts are making damn few jobs and jobs and wages are what is needed in a consumer spending driven economy to make it strong. If a consumer spending driven economy can ever be truly strong.

Lose your faith in the corporate mantra and realize truth.
The market is not the economy.

It kind of helps to cut taxes before they will work. Taxes havent been cut since 2001. Why on earth would we expect them to work now?

And there sure as heck havent been any spending cuts. You guys keep saying it doesnt work but it hasnt been even attempted since the 1920s.
