Just in 1937-38 during the Great Terror, as many as 1000 people a day were executed in Moscow, most in the basement execution cells of the Lubyanka, or others in the Lubyanka complex. That doesn't include the millions who escaped a bullet during their interrogation/torture stays in Stalin's prisons only to be sentenced to almost certain death in the gulag. How many millions died there in the six decades that monstrocity served as HQ for the Cheka, NKVD, then KGB, is still a matter of conjecture, but it was no doubt a factor of 3 or more over the number of people ever murdered at Auschwitz. Read a book sometime.
