All remember that Eric Holder, the new Attorney General of the United States referred to us as: "A nation of cowards"--which created much discussion & outrage over his comments.

This week it is about gun ownership: Stating that he would ban assault fully automatic weapons in the United States, "as a favor to Mexico"--citing the violence along the Mexican border between drug lords & the Mexican military.

In the first place, fully automatic weapons were banned by Ronald Reagan in 1986. They are no longer sold in the United States. The ones we have today simply look like a fully automatic--assault weapon--when they're really not.

In the second place, Mexican drug lords can get all the fully automatic weapons they want from China & S. America. They certainly do not get them from us.

I think it's time for President Obama to call in Eric Holder for these outrageous comments. Eric Holder swore an oath to protect & defend the Constitution Of the United States. Instead he appears to be more intent on single-handedly re-writing it, for his own personal preferences.

BTW--Since Barack Obama was elected gun sales have skyrocketed in the United States--out of fear that they will be banned.

He didn't hold Wright to task. He wont hold Holder to task. Obama agrees with these idiots.

Damn Holder.

We need military style weapons, so criminals can buy them here and ship them to Mexico and so they can destroy Mexican society.

Yep--Barack Obama was very anti-gun ownership while he was in the Illinois state legislature. He's probably the same, but changed his tune to get elected to POTUS.

As far as Pastor Wright? There's only one person in the entire world who could get away with stating: I didn't know my pastor talked like that, "after sitting in the pews for 20 years". That man is Barack Obama.

Lord knows we owe Mexico a lot of favors, especially when it has to do with the 2nd Amendment. Why don't we give the Mexicans our country and be done with it? Oh, right. We already have.

No. get rid of them so only the gang bangers will have them.

6,000 Mexicans were killed in the drug war last year....

The Mexican government's crackdown on the cartels has resulted in a quasi war in which the rich drug gangs are fighting back with increasingly more sophisticated and powerful weapons. "Half of what we seize, 55 percent, are assault rifles…over 17,000 assault rifles, throughout the last two years," says Mexico's Attorney General Eduardo Medina-Mora. "Two thousand and 200 grenades, missile and rocket launchers, .50-cal sniper rifles," says Medina Mora.

The vast majority of these guns - 90 percent - are being purchased just over the border in the U.S. Medina-Mora wants this stopped. "The Second Amendment was never designed to arm criminal groups, especially not foreign criminal groups," says Medina-Mora. "We believe that much more needs to be done. We need a much more committed effort from the U.S.," he says.

DITTO--but the point is--they aren't getting fully automatic weapons from us. They were banned more than 20 years ago in this country. So they're getting them from somewhere else.

Eric Holder is using this to put another ban on weapons that do not even exist in this country.

Anything to take the guns out of "responsible"--"law abiding" citizens hands.

So are we selling rockets, grenades & rocket launchers to Mexican drug lords too? They are not getting fully automatic assault rifles from the United States. They have been banned since 1986! One has not been able to buy one in the U.S for more than 20 years.

If they're getting grenades, rockets & rocket launchers, I imagine they're also getting their fully automatic assault rifles from the same source. And it's not the United States.

Mexico President Calderon has never stated that these weapons are coming in from the United States. In fact, when directly asked for serial numbers of some of these assault rifles they decline to give them to us--so we can't even help find the source. Until they do, we will not be able to track where they are getting these assault weapons. There are rumors that many of these weapons come from the Mexican military & that is why they are so reluctant to release any serial numbers.

Nowhere in the article does it say the assault rifles are automatic. But I had no doubt you would deny the reality of the situation. What is sad is that 6,000 people were killed last year because of this and you don't give a shit.

The second amendment is about a well-regulated militia.

Key words...."well-regulated."

Keeping powerful military weapons out of the hands of criminals is very important. But gun lovers don't care about deaths of 6,000 people or the near destruction of Mexican society because they have no empathy for the suffering of others. That's why they keep losing elections.

you oughtta start, though. You might make more sense.

Damn Holder.

The quote that shows that you are a complete asshat. Those drug lord's weapon of choice is some variant of the Kalashnikov AK-47. Guess where those don't come from clown. There is no proof that they are buying weapons here. That is a baseless accusation from a government that doesn't care for us much. And any article that quotes Napalitano is useless as far as I'm concerned. Saying she is qualified as SecHomSec because she was the governor of a border state is like saying Palin is qualified as SecState because she can see Russia from her house.

Second, why would the AG want to ban something that is already banned. Though fully automatic weapons are still legal for purchase here in the US, you have to jump through a billion hoops to get one. The point is, banning them further isn't going to help any. Removing guns from the equation is not the solution. For example, the lack of guns in Africa has not led to peace. Instead, Africans kill each other with machetes.

I swear, you need to be retroactively aborted.
