Couldn't find a previous thread in this sub-forum started on this disaster of a movie. Where were all the Randite movie-goers when this came out? :dunno: I thought of it because I saw some dummy driving @ w/ a "j galt" license plate today LOL

'Atlas Shrugged' Producer Promises Two Sequels Despite Terrible Reviews, Poor Box Office - The Hollywood Reporter
Aglialoro acknowledged that spending almost no money on marketing and relying almost entirely on the Internet and talk radio -- a strategy he boasted of a week ago -- was ineffective in the long run.
Are Limbough & Savage listeners cheapskates?

Did you see the movie. TELL THE TRUTH!

how much you wanna bet a lot of would-be randroids were turned off by the fact that the movie adaptation libbed out by using high-speed rail as its example of a market ripe for entrepreneurial innovation? the current brand of illiterate teabaggers have doubtless not read "atlas shrugged" -- since i can't imagine most of them know which side you're supposed to open a book on -- but one thing they DO know, is that anything that competes with their truck-nutz-equipped F150s is SOCIALIST.

seriously, though, i heard the whole production was rife with funding and creative problems, if i remember right i think they even started production without a final script. kinda a shame, since i read the book and for a novel whose philosophy is diametrically opposed to everything i believe in, "atlas strugged" was a pretty entertaining book, and it deserved a good movie adaptation. i kinda wish oliver stone had directed it. oddly enough, i think he would have done a good job.

He claims he was going to make parts 2 & 3 even though it looks like he lost $5-7 million + on part 1
