Atheist Eve

Some really blind or stupid people out there...........................

If you cannot see the numerous attacks against religion that have happened in the past few years you have to be one or the other.

Crosses built as war memorials ordered to be covered in the middle of the desert for example, and when it was finally ordered uncovered some assholes stole it..... But that's OK with so very many of you. Not a thing wrong with that. Never should have been there anyway, right?

Sorry but I will tell you again, our constitution gives us freedom of religion, not freedom from religion. Now last time I made that statement I got 3 negs for it, I wonder how many I'll get this time?

I certainly never heard of crosses built as war memorials in the desert being ordered to be covered.

The constitution offers us both protection, freedom of, and freedom from, religion.

You knw what amazes me?

How people like you close your eyes to things that inconvenience their worldview that Christians are evil.

It's the hypocrisy of those who preach morality, but follow different rules themselves.

Osama Bin Laden Had a Porn Stash for Masturbating Islamically

Investigators recovered a "fairly extensive" cache of "modern, electronically recorded" pornography from Osama bin Laden's compound, according to Reuters. Considered in concert with the fact that he also reportedly had natural boner juice on hand, one can reasonably conclude that bin Laden spent the balance of his time on the run jackin' it.

The unnamed intelligence officials who spoke to Reuters about bin Laden's boner jams didn't say what format the porn was—whether it consisted of files on his hard drive, DVDs, videotapes, etc.—or, crucially, what kind of pornography it was. Was it gay pornography? Yes. Yes, it was gay pornography, almost certainly.

Great, since I have never mentioned my own personal religion in this or any other forum that fits me to a T.

However when I see the prosecution of religion that has been going on in this country that is just wrong....

Just because you are prevented from forcing your religious beliefs on others does not mean you are being persecuted against

If you cannot force others to engage in public prayer.....that is not persecution
If you cannot force others to ostracize gays.....that is not persecution
If you cannot censor what others are allowed to see....it is not persecution
If Muslims are provided the same religious rights as you...it is not persecution

No one has been forced to pray.

No one is forced to hate gays.

No one is forced to see anything, what are you talking about? I see a Muslim Mosque about once a week, Should they have to take down their religious symbols so I don't have to see them?

Same religious rights? I think we've pretty much covered that.

The gripe by Christians for 50 years is that they can't force children to engage in Christian prayers in school. How would they respond if their children were forced to engage in Muslim prayer or Jewish prayer? How would they respond if their Childs teacher taught them that God is a myth?

She seems to see it like I do.

Simple enough solution.

Let the atheists set up their schools where they teach their version of morals.

Let the Christians set up their schools where they do it their way.

Problem solved.

I wouldn't want tax dollars going to either. Both atheists and theists have their dumb asses that want to shove their beliefs in peoples faces, and both sides have their people that are comfortable enough in who they are, and what they believe, that they don't need to push their beliefs like a sack of cheap skag.

Simple solution: Keep your gods at home, and at church where they belong.

They do that now.

or here's an idea. Get rid of Public Schools because they don't work, anyway, and let communities create their own schools with their own cirriculum.

If a community is all Muslim, they can have a Muslim School. If it's all Catholic, they can have a Catholic School.

Not a religious guy, have little use for religion, but the community should not be held hostage to one or two malcontents.

I believe she is trying to say that it is the Atheists who are being prosecuted and forced to accept someones religion.

The Christian Right is trying as hard as possible to force us atheists to support their religion by our tax dollars.
If you wanna believe in hocus pokus - that's your prerogative - but don't expect me to give a shit.

Absolutely terrible idea. And fits neatly into tribalism.

Would someone care to be more specific here?

Assuming that someone qualified as a "dumb ass" and was also an atheist, what beliefs would this "dumb ass atheist" try to shove in people's faces?

What's to be confused about? You think we're all perfect little angels, that wouldn't harm a fly, get in somebodies face, or moronically spout off rhetoric they heard from Dawkins or Hitchens at the first sign of any religious dialogue they hear, like a good lil Pavlovian doggie?

Being an atheist doesn't mean we're an infallible master race of intellectualism, it means we don't believe in a god. We have reactionaries, idiots, parrots, jerk-offs, and dumb fucks just like every other group of people, because we're human, like everybody else.

You mean, like the local governments that already exist, and do just that? Religion in school is only an issue because the schools don't have the balls to tell reactionary parents to shut the fuck up, and let the teachers do their fucking jobs, which is to teach curriculum. Parents with stupid little hang-ups about crosses, stars, moons, horseshoes, and balloons, and the ones that are pissed off that their kids aren't learning what Jesus/Vishnu/Muhammad/Xenu, and whatever the fuck else need to realize that this is public school. It's not a Cadillac with all leather interior, and custom paint from the factory, it's the fucking 47 bus to Monterey. It leaves at 0745, be there, or your ass is walking. If these parents want their kids to learn according to their beliefs, there's these wicked awesome things called private schools, who are paid to cater to the customers needs. Can't afford it? Home school the lil bastards, or teach your kids along with the curriculum, like it's supposed to be anyway.

Just a couple of miserable pricks.

I have to agree.

Keep public schools. If you want your child enrolled into a religious school, then don't go to a public school. It means $$$ out of your pocket, so don't gripe.

I'm taxed more so churches/mosques/synagogues can used untaxed funds to buy new religious artifacts, decorations and pews.

If religious beliefs would be allowed to be taught in schools, then dumb assed Atheists could teach that God is just a myth much the same as leprechauns, fairies, Santa and the Easter Bunny. They could also teach your children that Jesus was just an ordinary man who lived 2000 years ago

I assume you would have no problem with that?
