All is fair, if you own a high performance muscle car you should be banned from buying any type of alcohol, and if you are on medication you should be restricted from operating it until after you come off your medication.

Actually, this is a good argument against the currently popular "assault weapon" hysteria. That being said, are there any objective criteria which could or should be used to restrict the manufacture, sale or possession of certain weapons? For example, there is a general consensus that automatic weapons (machine guns) should not be privately owned. Should there be any other (reasonable) restrictions?

Oh goodie. This argument again....because the Wingnut Brigade hasn't already played it to death.

BigDerp: a day late and a dollar short.

Yup - assault vehicles are far more deadly than assault guns but libs say "we don't care".

I will give you licensing if controlled in a warrant search-able database by the NRA.

If after I have the license, I can own everything I can presently legally purchase henceforth in perpetuity.

Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards and Regulations

U.S. DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION

FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARDS AND REGULATIONS

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has a legislative mandate under Title 49 of the United States Code, Chapter 301, Motor Vehicle Safety, to issue Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS) and Regulations to which manufacturers of motor vehicle and equipment items must conform and certify compliance. FMVSS 209 was the first standard to become effective on March 1, 1967. A number of FMVSS became effective for vehicles manufactured on and after January 1, 1968. Subsequently, other FMVSS have been issued. New standards and amendments to existing standards are published in the Federal Register.

your vehicle has been reviewed, already by the representatives of the people.

for a mature Society there are standards of civility for the common good ... this is excluded by the NRA and its membership in their arguments for the pursuit and possession of a weapon, solely designed to kill that is a threat to any individual within its proximity and not in the control of anyone.

Zimmerman is the capsule of the illegitimacy of the NRA.

Yes. Maturity, standards of civility and the common good.....and all.

Definitely the inanimate object. Never the man.

I bet there aren't two radical anti-gun libs who can define an "assault rifle". What you will get is a sissified emotional definition of an ugly rifle that those bad Military people use or a confusing rendition of semi-automatic and automatic (illegal anyway).

Zimmerman is the capsule of the illegitimacy of the NRA.

Sure.

It has been proven COUNTLESS times that stricter gun laws do not promote the 'common good' by the fact that stricter gun laws never result in fewer people killed. Period.

Show how strict gun control actually saves lives and you have an argument. As it stands now, the facts show that increasing gun laws does not decrease homicides and right to carry laws (essentially relaxing gun control) does.

What you claim has not been proven and is not accurate.
