Ecuador: Assange Has Chronic Lung Condition...
:eusa_eh:
Julian Assange suffering lung problems, says Ecuador
Nov 29, 2012 - WikiLeaks founder reportedly suffering from a chronic lung condition after spending months inside Ecuadorean embassy ; He's been holed up inside embassy since June
The WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange is suffering from a chronic lung ailment that could worsen at any time and is being checked regularly by doctors, Ecuador's ambassador to Britain has said. Assange, 41, has been holed up inside Ecuador's embassy in London since June to avoid extradition to Sweden for questioning over rape and sexual assault allegations. Assange has denied any wrongdoing. "He has a chronic lung complaint that could get worse any time. The Ecuadorean state is covering Mr Assange's medical costs and we have arranged for regular doctor visits to check on his health," the ambassador, Ana Alban, told a local TV network during a visit to Quito.

British officials say Assange will be arrested if he sets foot outside the embassy. The building is under constant police surveillance. Ecuador said last month it was worried about Assange's health and asked Britain to guarantee him safe passage to hospital from the embassy if he needed medical treatment. That would allow him to return to the embassy after treatment with refugee status. Assange took refuge in the embassy after running out of legal options to avoid being sent to Sweden. Ecuador granted him asylum in August and said it shared his fears that he could be sent from Sweden to the US to face charges over WikiLeaks' activities.

US and European government sources say the US has issued no criminal charges against him, nor launched any attempts to extradite Assange. Assange is said to be living a cramped life inside the modest diplomatic mission. He eats mostly takeaway food and uses a treadmill to burn off energy and a vitamin D lamp to make up for the lack of sunlight. On Tuesday Assange accused "hard-right" US politicians of pressing European credit card firms to block more than $50m in donations to WikiLeaks, and said that had forced the website to reduce the volume of documents it posted online.

Speaking to reporters in the embassy's conference room, Assange said his stay there had been "difficult in many ways" and that any resolution of the standoff would be "a matter of diplomacy". He refused to comment on his health or how long he may have to stay in the embassy, declaring those subjects "off-topic". In late August Assange said he expected to wait six months to a year for a deal that would allow him to leave the embassy.

Why is it that when any big name is on the lamb, or in jail, they get major health issues? Be it Bernie Madoff, the guy who blew up the plane over Lockerby, even Jerry Sandusky. Are we suppose to feel sorry for these scum bags?

I've no sympathy for Assange - he caused a lot of trouble for many UK people, who were harrassed, and many lost their livelihood because of information about political party membership which his Wikileaks released. :Boom2:

The sooner he is put before a court to consider his activities, the better.:lalala:

My Granma would've said 'It's all the badness coming out' ........

If he'd asked me what I thought of what he was intending to do with women, in Sweden or anywhere else...and do with WikiLeaks.....I would've told him not to do any of it, that he'd only get himself into big trouble...
...which he certainly has done.

Jumping into bed with women he'd just met at a conference, seemingly no love or concern much for their wishes...gee, what could possibly have gone wrong there.

'Stealing' secret cables from the US federal govt and publishing them...you'd have to have a screw loose in your head to do that.
Now look what's happened to him and others connected with him.

Huckabee and other US politicians want him put in their death chamber and exterminated.

Seems to me Assange will need to get used to his life in the embassy, wouldn't surprise me if he's there for decades.

"Oh what a tangled web we weave when first we practise to deceive".

It didn't have to be like it is.
He was born in Townsville, Queensland state, Australia in 1971.

He was healthy, and had it all.
He had many job opportunities in the nation, doing which he could've earned good money and had a good life.
Now he's holed up in some cramped apartment in London...no ocean views, no wife/girlfriend, and no future life much.

From the 'wet tropics' Townsville to not so tropical but still wet London.

Townsville Holidays

So that's...sailing around the Whitsundays with female company...or holed up/cramped up in London;

He had it all, he threw it away...for what?
Has he changed the world for the better?
Has he done any good with any of his exploits?

IMO all he's done is ruin his life and the lives of others.

Oh why did he do it?
He should've stayed home.

And the criminals he exposed, should they go to court to face the results of their crimes?

WikiLeaks releases documents exposing US war crimes in Iraq - World Socialist Web Site

The Guardian focuses on the scale of the bloodshed, including 15,000 civilians killed in incidents not previously reported by the US military—which publicly denied it was even counting civilian deaths, while keeping an extensive internal log. The newspaper’s report begins: “A grim picture of the US and Britain's legacy in Iraq has been revealed in a massive leak of American military documents that detail torture, summary executions and war crimes.”

How many American murders have been arrested or even charged with anything but you fools want to man who exposed your murderers to be charged with whatever you can get away with.

Usually when you get old, you have health issues. It is part of growing old.

Maybe if the Red Cross was visiting him, you would have more sympathy?

Please quote a report, showing someone lost their life because of anything on wikileaks.
I seem to have missed it and, as it's such an important development, I feel posters should be aware of it.

Assange is Demanding $50M Blood Money

According to the piece, he's asking America to stop blocking payments.
The thread title suggests he's demanding a bribe - not true.

As for hero or villain, he's exposed murders of civilians by American troops.
In normal life, a man who reports a murder is considered a good citizen.

There were some reports by the media, but when the administration put out the word, the reports were withdrawn. It's been a few weeks, things not preferred disappear these days, Indofred. Sorry.

Or, translated from bullshit to English:

I can't because I lied.

No I didn't lie warmonger.

You claimed there have been deaths of American allies as a direct result of leaks.
The U.S. administration is out to get all concerned in this affair so has absolutely no reason to cover up any story that makes the leaks look like a crime.
In fact the opposite would be true; they'd lap it up and make bloody sure it was all over the news.

You made a claim you knew to be lies and backed it up with an absurd lie.
You lied twice.

Now, to "warmonger". Please show your evidence to support that third lie.

You see, if you lie, try to let it drop, not make a pathetic attempt to cover it up with an even worse lie then, just to show how fucking stupid you really are, add a third lie, designed to insult and distract attention from your first two lies.

Just admit you're a pathetic liar, try to mend your ways, and you'll lead a better life.
