I'm a libertarian
I might take issue with his comment that "a free market ends up as monopoly unless you force them to be free" depending on what he meant by that remark, but exposing the state for what it is, a lying criminal organization, is certainly a good thing.
That..in no way gives him the right to put up unfiltered stolen classified material.
I am all for whistle blowers...and people who ferret out hidden crimes..but I am not for anyone putting lives at risk to grandstand.
What Manning did was not 'whistle blowing', it was treason.
Swallow doesn't know the difference.

Good thing he hasn't put any lives at risk then.
Sure he has. Iraqis that cooperated with American forces.

I read that some of the clear text emails from the military included names of Iraqi translators and others. Additionally there are names of service people in those emails. That's not as bad. But the Iraqis..man..that ridiculous.
In any case..putting up un-filtered clear text of classified material..without conferring with anyone is just plain irresponsible.
You're not a libertarian because you believe in the efficacy of state coercion.
Telling me what I believe makes you look stupid as well as naive.
You're a statist. That's why you're mad at WikiLeaks. They showed the U.S. state for what it is, a criminal organization. So you want to label the people at WikiLeaks criminals because they exposed the truth rather than look at the real criminals.
I'm a libertarian, but I have enough expertise in politics and history to understand that a free market ends up as monopoly unless you force them to be free.
He is a libertarian with a streak of reality.
Unfettered markets lead to disaster

"Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort." - U.S. Constitution, Article 3, Section 3
Apparently you don't know the difference. Manning didn't levy war against the U.S., therefore is not guilty of treason.

I'm angry at anyone who puts my life - the lives of Americans outside the US, our troops, and Americans generally, in danger. I guess I'm just patriotic like that. I care about my country, and its citizens.
We don't do anything that other countries don't do. And they do it for good reason - you're just too blinkered and narrow minded to understand those reasons. This information was stolen - and it was classified information. The criminals are the ones who stole it, and who used it for their own gain. You think Manning is some kind of hero. I call him a traitor to his country. You think Assange is interested in some 'greater good', I think he's a money grabbing self publicist and egomanic.
You're a fool.

Just being technically not guilty of the crime, doesn't make him less of a traitor. And he sure as hell isn't a 'whistle blower'.
The crime he committed puts Americans at greater risk. With 'Americans' like him, who needs enemies. The man is scum.
